Canada Post was in fine form for a change. It was estimated to arrive next Wednesday (the 25th), so it was a surprise to find it sitting outside my front door this morning.

It's all assembled now and I took it for a tour around the apartment. I wasn't the least bit wobbly or concerned about falling while using it, so it should be great using it to walk downtown to the drug store or wherever I need to go within walking distance.

It's going to take me a few payment to pay off my credit card, but it will be money well-spent. It's definitely something I need with my hips and legs and balance being so crappy now.

Hi Neil!!!

Would it be possible for you to post a link for this?

My mother has had several strokes -- and her balance is AWFUL!!!

She doesn't like her walker -- and tries to get around with a cane...

This looks IDEAL -- as it also appears to provide a seat if she need to sit down for a bit...

I think that she would LOVE something like this...

THANKS!!!

:):):)

I bought it through Amazon Canada, but here's the same one at Amazon.com. (It's $40 less than Canada.)

Assembly is required, but if you have to do it, the clips are difficult to snap into place above the wheels. I used a flat head screwdriver to 'encourage' the snaps to connect. You might have enough strength in your fingers to do it without the screwdriver. I don't.

However, it's rather heavy and sturdy and extremely stable. Big wheels, too.

I bet that zippered pouch in the front can hold two heads of cabbage. :)

Neil, I'm glad you made the move. I think it will be worth it and give you a boost of mobility without the fatigue.

Thanks for sharing.

give you a boost of mobility without the fatigue.

It was never about fatigue. The way I have to 'waddle' these days when I walk with the cane, it causes stress on my hips and back. With the rollator, there's no 'waddle'. No waddle? No stress. No stress? No pain.

You need to find some sort of obnoxious horn to attach to it and then really squeeze the fuck out of the bulb whenever anyone gets in your way.

I bought one for my wife, much better than a regular walker, I hope that it improves your quality of life.

A friend of mine has a similar one, and she seems very pleased with it. Hope it makes things better for you!

And look, there's a place for everything you need, even a seat for that special person to keep you pumped while you walk! :p

The front of the case hanging from the back rest has slots, probably for cell phones and other things you want to keep handy.

I've seen rollators which looked cheap and flimsy, made metallic noises (like hand walkers) while moving, and had small wheels. I can't express enough how substantial the Hugo Elite is. It's not made of lightweight aluminum. It is steel. The wheels are huge and wide and the seat will support 186 kilos (300 pounds).
