I'm glad you made the decision you did, although I'm sorry that means the end of a potential relationship. Anyway, I'm glad because you aren't saddling yourself to a period of frustration and anger by being something you're not comfortable being and feeling boxed in like that.

These things are always tricky to work through, when one party is strictly a top or bottom and has zero interest in ever switching off. I guess it's fine if they find someone who's strictly the other way, but most of us aren't.

The "bottom/top" incompatability is a big part of what broke me up with a previous boyfriend. It honestly was very important for me, and I would expect that it would be for tons of other guys, too. Now I'm with a guy with whom I'm much more compatible in that way, as well as in MANY OTHER important ways!
 
im a bottom, and I went out with another bottom, we didnt last at all! I could never top. My next bf would definatley have to be a top
