4. Orpheus and Eurydice. (some Greek Mythology story but the actors in the pic are Brazilian)

Classy or tacky or I have bad taste? A lot of people in another forum said my style sucks and they don't go well together.

IMO. Yes you have a bad taste in home decor wise- not your taste of paintings. It's kind of tricky to hang classical stuff if your crib isn't luxurious/opulent in the first place nor if the piece not authentic. Maybe you can have James Dean poster or semi modern stuff with the same theme.

Personally, I never have any pictures or stuff hanging on my walls.

But your stuff looks okay, no better or worse than anyone else's.

One person's 'art' is aways another person's tacky bad-taste, especialy if the other person in question likes to think of themselves as some somrt of style-guru.

If you like it there's no need to care what anyone else thinks.

When you are selecting art....think about the narrative. Anyone can hang pictures from a calendar.....but when you have multiple pieces in the same room...they need to talk to one another...the whole should tell a story. So choose your artwork to provoke connections between the subject of one and another and to what your personality and philosophy on life is. these don't appear to meet that test. They are a grab-bag of styles and subjects that demonstrate that you saw something you liked but don't really know why.

I live in an apartment so I don't see it as worth it to paint the walls.

And yeah, it's just a mix of things I like. The pictures don't follow a theme together.

You have eclectic taste. It represents you, and for that you shouldn't pay any mind to what others may think. You are the one that lives there, and each piece was chosen for a reason...they have meaning to you.

I have a wide variety of styles in my place, and most everything I have has a story behind it...places I've gone, pieces I've refinished, hand-me downs from parents/grandparents, gifts, etc. Somehow this mish mash of stuff has all come together and I get compliments on my place. When new people walk in, they almost always look around and are curious about my things, and we talk about them (some...I could rattle off for hours if I didn't exhibit some restraint ) So...while perhaps some of your things my be better organized and presented, in groupings/collages, or in different rooms...these things are representative of you, and anyone coming into your home will learn more about you by what and how you choose to decorate. It will all come together in due time.

Rex, you have not shown us your apartment, only the canvases you bought just kind of randomly in the middle of the wall.

My warning would be that buying canvases, even good ones, is not the same as decorating. When you decorate, you're trying to make everything you own look good together, not just put a painting on a wall.

The canvases you have chosen, hard to say? I can imagine them looking good in the right room. Maybe if you zoomed out we would see that. Or maybe you have more decorating to do to make them fit in.
