I got a new hip

Damp the last few days...how's the hip holding up kuli?

We had a dip in atmospheric pressure last night; I slept better but the whole leg aches horribly today, not just the hip. With the other one that effect faded out; I hope it's the same on this one.

Bammer didn't help things this morning -- I had to get up from the floor, and told him to stand still, but he moved while I was using him for support and the hip got twisted a bit. I had to take an extra dose for breakthrough pain.

Right now... the sun's still shining, and I stopped mowing yesterday after finishing less than a quarter of the yard, so time to go see how leaning on a machine works.

Even after nearly 6 years the change in the weather always causes me to ache for a few days

I still have my own joints, but I've had "I can feel it in my bones" Mammy Yokum pains due to pressure changes for years - most of the time it's very mild, but my knuckles seem to feel it more with recent medicine changes and/or some weight loss.

I can remember Winter Campouts with the Scouts when a couple of knuckles would stiffen up a bit.

Nowhere near the scale you guys have been through.

SLOW and steady there, Kuli.

Oh, I'm slow all right -- before either hip was a problem, I'd be moving over 4 mph when pushing a mower; now it's more like 4 hours per mile. And if I let the mower bag fill all the way, I have to have someone else change it out....

But every morning after I've pushed the envelope a little, the hip feels stronger!

There's aches, and there's aches. Yesterday's was like how I felt a couple of hours after being kicked by a horse, and it covered most of the leg.

BTW, the right leg is now definitely longer than the left, and I suspect that may have something to do with it. I put a 1/32" lift in the left yesterday, with an additional 1/32 in the heel, but I'm going to add another 1/32" today because after shopping for an hour yesterday I could tell that wasn't enough.

Yay!

One of the butterfly bandage things fell off this morning. I had to use a mirror to tell, but sutures are disappearing. It seems like that came faster this time.

Well, off to pick up parts for getting my AC fixed.

I'm rather curious. Where is your speedometer? Is it readily visible or must your remove various articles of clothing?

Well, the pointy indicator thingy might be obvious, under the right stimuli.

As I said before, for some reason the first one done always ends up shorter than the second one
I blame that for my increased backaches

*It's all in your mind - they're really the same length now - you were just off kilter the other way before.*
That's their story and they're sticking to it.

It took me months to get used to my left leg being shorter than it was. It hasn't helped with the back and right-hip pain, though. That's just as bad as it always was, if not a bit worse.

I agree
My consultant told me right at the beginning to expect unevenness

LOL

I got told that they'd do their best, but not to expect perfection.

I'm going to try some barefoot time at the beach today, and see if I can really tell.

That's my concern. Just putting the 1/16" lift in the left shoe cut down a bunch on lower back pain.

At least it's not a half inch any longer! 3/32" or even 1/8" seems more manageable. And a former physical therapist friend told me not to actually count the difference until all the swelling has gone down.

Keep on keeping on.
I'm glad you thought of the lifts to provide some correction.

Neil - can you find some in Ptbo?
