Sorry to resurrect this thread but it's the best way to let everyone know what's going on with me.
It now seems like years and years ago since I was so ill.
I'm now on 6 monthly visits to the oncologist for another three years. My last x-ray showed that "there is no evidence of tumour recurrence".
Still prone to chest infections but am getting out and about. Have been back on my push bike for short distances. And I'm doing all the daily things I need to do.
To look at me now wouldn't know I'd been ill! Bit of a miracle really.
I feel really lucky, as I've met lots of people that have since passed away.
I never said at the time "why me?" cos I knew 40 years of cigarettes was why me.
But now
I'm surviving and people I know are getting bad news I do sometimes think "why me?". Why have I been so lucky?
Anyway, things are looking good. Live every day to the fullest. And be happy.
And thanks for all your support.
Alan
