Alan, I'm so glad your doing better. Glad to see your back with us again! God bless.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but it's the best way to let everyone know what's going on with me.

It now seems like years and years ago since I was so ill.

I'm now on 6 monthly visits to the oncologist for another three years. My last x-ray showed that "there is no evidence of tumour recurrence".

Still prone to chest infections but am getting out and about. Have been back on my push bike for short distances. And I'm doing all the daily things I need to do.

To look at me now wouldn't know I'd been ill! Bit of a miracle really.

I feel really lucky, as I've met lots of people that have since passed away.

I never said at the time "why me?" cos I knew 40 years of cigarettes was why me.

But now I'm surviving and people I know are getting bad news I do sometimes think "why me?". Why have I been so lucky?

Anyway, things are looking good. Live every day to the fullest. And be happy.
And thanks for all your support.

Serious Lefty Alert........

Alan,

I have you since Jan of 2005....A bit of time by any standard here.

Well buddy, you say you don't know why you were granted an

extenson on this plane......Well, a lot of us do know......

You have always been a Candle in the Dark...even when your room was

darkening, you kept the candle in the window.

Your horrific illness was a call to arms. You responded and have given many

of us a beacon to guide our challenges into ports of dignity. You were and

are a vital and positive Icon to many....Thanks Old Boy....Ok, all this honey and

the schmaltz is aggriaating my diabetes so I'm stopping.

NOW START DOING MORE POSTS DAMN IT.(*8*)

I'm glad you're doing well and that you chose to fight.

My best wishes for a long life.

I know it's a bit of a crappy way to think but they always say "There's a reason for everything", which I think might not explain much but helps situations not feel so useless.

Anyways, lovely to hear you are doing better :) Let's hope it continues :D

Great news !!! (!)

The power of the mind, body and spirit combined can do amazing things...

May this good luck continue !

I'm really trying not to cry. I'm so happy to hear this.....
