  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

I like to hit that priest in the face.

Orthodox priests get paid by demand.
I'm sure that priest got paid indirectly some like he owns a church ??

"Paid by demand"? What does that mean -- they just demand to get paid, and someone pays them?

And what about all the priests who aren't Orthodox. like the Roman Catholics and Episcopalians and Lutherans?

After every weddings, i saw one of the brides or grooms family paid them EVERY TIME.

So they are not making a good living out of it?
Good living = good paid

"This is not about the photography, it is about god" LOL LOL

It is actually about the bride and groom and nothing else.
They want these moments captured on photos and on video.

Well if a priest is involved it is to a certain extent about god LOL LOL

But yeah, it was an unfortunate mismatch between priest and bride/groom, they clearly have different views on what the ceremony should be, but if they want to have a religious wedding then they are constrained somewhat by the priest.....

The couple wanted a religious ceremony, and that means they put the priest in charge.

Exactly. They invited him. Just goes to show that a wedding guest list should be vetted carefully. Nobody wants a loose canon at their wedding.

Get it? Loose canon??

Priest in charge meaning he can act like an arsehole?
Just look at the bride and groom's faces. They are shocked by the priest behavior.

The funny thing is it is basically only you who claims the priest was out of line. You have proven time and time again with your own posts that you have a deep hatred of religion. Can you look at this objectively for just a moment and realize that your judgement is clouded by your hatred. Then maybe you can help us understand why you have so much hate for something you don't understand?

He's also demonstrated he's bloody ignorant about religion, too.

That's why I was wondering why he has such hate for what he doesn't understand....

Then again, many "Christians" don't even understand all that much of what they profess to believe.

The priest was out of line. A more careful practitioner of christianity would have found a more compassionate and less irate way to guide those in attendance toward the desired behaviour, instead of just throwing a hissy. He might have helped everyone to realise how they could contribute to the desired ceremony, and if the photographers were, in his view, ignorant of the appropriate protocol, he might have realised this as an occasion to educate rather than berate.

I think the couple were embarrassed. The priest over-reacted and spoiled the moment for them. Why was it necessary?

There are quiet afew catholic priests here whom purposefully pause the ceremony and asked photographers and videos to get into the right spots or what ever spots they want because they know this is for the brides and grooms and their famalies memories forever.
They are such wonderful priests and having fun with their jobs. They do weddings EVERY-WEEK and sometimes afew times per week.

On the other, that priest in the video is unprofessional self important and "speaks for god"

It just gets stupider 'n stupider. . .

The video plainly shows a cleric who is not Orthodox.

In NONE of the mainline churches (denominations) do priests or ministers EVER own the churches or directly control the coffers thereof.

In Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, etc., the property and general funds are controlled by other hands than the pastor or priest. They make an actual salary. The amount of money "given" ministers is a tiny fraction of their annual pay -- which isn't a high pay in these regular churches. Most churches are small and their clergy are as poor or middle class as their members. Only in big congregations are ministers paid better.

In stark contrast to your grossly ignorant opining, the churches in most cases are not even owned by the local congregatio in most denominations. If a church dwindles over time, or suffers some other reversal and fails as a congregation, the building reverts back to the denomination and is never actually owned locally.

Honestly, you're so full of shit when it comes to actually knowing the basic of how the religions you hate work, it's no wonder that's all that spills out of you when you get shaken by a real argument.

Did you know that i give u a missed.
No need to write so many sentences and work so hard for nothing.

Are you claiming to go to church frequently, or just drop in on weddings as a hobby or something?
