I lost on Jeopardy

I am sorry to it having ended so quickly - not surprised by the winner - but wish it had gone on longer as I enjoyed it much more than the usual programming.

I really admire Alex. Keep fighting the good fight.

A very classy man fighting a very hard battle.

Good luck Alex.

He's been fun to watch the last couple months. He's been having more fun with the contestants. I've noticed he likes to rag on them if they have a weird bio or a weird hobby. He's been making fun of them when they get an answer wrong or they finish with really low totals. He looks like he's enjoying the time he has left. They better let him ride it out as long as he wants and not try to replace him early.

My eligibility is running out this month.
They now let you take the contestant test anytime! My thought is they're low on qualified prospects; I'll take the test again when my 18-month window officially closes.

I heard Trebek this week for just ten minutes one night as the show ended. He sounded so weakened and gravelly.

My heart goes out to all cancer patients and terminally ill people. It's a difficult way to end.

I hope his pain is not as bad as it sounds.

He had a cold the past week. He sounded better last night.

If anyone is interested, tonight's episode of Jeopardy will be a re-air of Alex's first episode hosting

I saw the Episode 1 repeat. How things have changed.

You know the Art Fleming "Jeopardy!" episodes have been lost. They were a victim of NBC's "Great tape erasure," before Game Show Network and Buzzr would have provided a home for them. But along with many episodes of "Hollywood Squares" (with Paul Lynde!), "Concentration," "You Don't Say!," and "Say When"...they're gone. Since they aired before home VCRs, fewer than a dozen episodes of Art Fleming's "Jeopardy!" exist.

Happy Birthday Mr. Trebek! Best wishes for many, many more!

Alex turns 80 today.

Now the biggest loss

Y'know, as painful as it is to lose him, how wonderful to live a life that has such a clear legacy. Many of find that greatly to be admired.

Jeopardy was one of a handful of my favorite shows and Alex Trebek was the ideal host for the show.

The last week of shows hosted by Alex starts tonight if anyone is interested.
