I-Phone vs Nokia N95

Hi there all
I´ve just got the Nokia N95.
Now I wanna know if I should have waited for the I-phone to arrive in europe??
I have always been a Sony Ericsson dude but I was dazzled with all the nice features in the N95.
The things with the I-Phone that scared me is that its not a 3g phone and that its locked when you wanna install 3rd party programmes on it.
I´m happy though with my N95 but all this upgradings on it. Jeez
If you have an I-phone or a N95 or comments in general please post.

1. The iPhone is NOT locked for 3rd party applications. Apple has a devoted website for developing software for the iPhone.
2. Right now Edge is the chosen browsing, but 3G is probably in the future especially with the iPhone coming to Europe.
3. Apple is working with a cell phone company in England now.
4. The iPhone has a true OS on it and a real browser and email.
5. Also the iPhone has wifi, and it will search for a connection, and does it aggresively!
6. You really can't compare the Nokia95 with the iPhone...no touch screen, no OS, not true email client, etc.

Have always been unhappy with how my other cell phones have worked. The iPhone has made my life so much easier and it works seemlessly with my computer.

Every Nokia phone I've ever had was cheaply made, got scratched and fell apart, filled with lint on the inside of the screen and had really bad sound for phone calls.

And FUCK is that thing ever ugly.

I know that the Microsoft freaks are all down on anything Apple because.. um...

But I love my iPhone. You really need to decide which features you want and go with the product that has the features you want.

I'll admit I dont know what GPS is, and thats because its too modern and the N95 is the only phone that has it.

It sounds like orgasm, actually, no it sounds better, and wetter then that.

If I dont know what GPS is, do you think the people that bought the I-poo care? they have their poo and are happy with it

I call myself tech savvy on PC's and Phones only, and no GPS hasnt been around on nokia or SE phones.

I knew what satnav + tomtom are, just not what GPS was. Ive never really used it, so why should I know about it.

I can build PC's and keep them running in mint condition for 3 years +. So my tech knowledge is capable enough for personal use. Obviously people that cant do this buy a mac.

If I had enough money, I'd be building the fastest custom cooled PC in the world right now.

Geez, and for a minute I actually believed he was tech savy. OH well.. someone else's opinion rendered unimportant.

(although the iPhone also plays MP4 and M4V files which means I can watch full length movies in stunning picture quality.. wide screen.. while sitting in an airplane. It also takes amazing photos for a 2MP camera, it plays iTunes files, which is what my whole library is in, not MP3s which I'm not that fond of, and it's got some rather cool clock functions like a stop watch, a rather amazing alarm clock interface, a stock tracker so I can keep track of all my stocks in real time, a calendar which syncs with my macbooks' calendar so I can just enter it in one place and have it show up on everything, it syncs with iTunes so I can create play lists on my laptop which will just update automatically when I power the phone up, it's got a beautiful interface for the weather reports which means I can access the weather conditions in all the cites we shoot in with one finger and under two seconds, it's got a very easy to use notepad which I can access and read while I'm on the phone, it's got...

well seeing how GPS has been in the news and media since its creation, I would think everyone knew what it is. Of course you live in the UK so I don't think yall have car ads regurgitated every two commercials, but still. In all your tech reading, GPS should come up every here and now. Its was hikers use to get around, its suggested if you are ever going hiking or in some back woods.

And I don't think the iPhone is the best phone ever. Never once said that. I was just defending it from your one sided, shortsighted stupid puke on all things SE and Nokia. Why don't you go fuck the creators of Nokia and SE for Gods sake.

I find it funny you get so pissed off that I pointed out you have no idea do what GPS is. I mean, in the last thread you hooped and hollared up the Atlantic ocean on how much more tech savvie the UK is to America and yet you don't know what this one piece of technology is. I think it's been around ever since the 90's I believe.

See, I told you this thread should never be created. All Cum_Slave will do is hoop and hollar about the VAST features of the N95 and put up links and praise the almighty Gods of SE and Nokia. Put down and the iPhone about not being "up to par" with SE and Nokia phones. You dont' even seem to know what the Nokia does. When I listed some of the things the iPhone does you said you were "pretty sure" that the Nokia does all those things.. and it doesn't.

Choose the phone which is right for you if you want gps I would go with this one

if you want it to play mp3's
SE w880i

for the camera
K850 which is out soon

for me this one will be a good mix when it comes out it looks a bit different and a good mix of features MP3 3.2 mp camera expandable memory and a small size

to continue just saying phones are ugly just because they are not the same as your preferred choice is ridiculous and stupid all of the phones shown are much smaller than the iphone have excellent features and look great

just because you are locked into itunes dosent mean that everyone should be if apple made their software to sync to a portable hard drive like microsoft has with media player then it would sync and play non-Apple-protected AAC music like most music players on the market today

thats the idea lock you in to only apple players they wont let other player play itunes music they wont let their software sync to anything but apple if microsoft came up with it they would be in the courts with a monopoly case against it

apple are not the BFG they exist to make money by whatever means they can if that means anti competitive behaviour you better believe they will do it as long as they can get away with it

This actually shows that you just don't like the iPhone but are completely anti-Apple and will say anything is better as long as it's not made by Apple. I use Mac because I like it, what's wrong with that? Doesn't mean I am not tech savvy. I have at least half a dozen PC's in my room at the moment including a laptop with Windows 98 and a server with Windows SBS 2003. What's wrong with using them side by side? I just prefer using a Mac. And because I do a lot of web design, Mac's are the standard in the industry.

About the iPhone. Most of you are completely missing the point, a phone is not just about features it's about the user experience. Can you honestly say you "enjoy" using an N95 or whatever Nokia or SE phone you have? As Soilwork has shown in another thread the iPhone takes awesome pictures, if I wanted pictures better than that I would buy an SLR!

It's similar in the web, a site with a great user interface and easy to use is much better than a cluttered ugly site that is hard to use. Ever wonder why Google is so big? Apple is doing the same thing, making a great user interface that is easy to use.

And yes I know what GPS is. Even my 80+ Grandpa knows what it is.

and why would Apple care about other music stores? they're the competition, and therefore a threat. whats with all this being "locked" into iTunes. Most people prefer iTunes to other music stores.

and he is being nice compared to what Cum_Slave is saying and you just turn a blind eye to him.
