I think I'm having a break through, but am scared of taking it further.

Many of you have noted I may have major depression, I want to look into that, and possibly seek help. I want to post more information about myself and my background, but don't know where to start. I also believe members may enjoy "picking" on others in regards to opening up, and may be doing it in jest to satisfy their desire to tease/troll/heckle others. That makes me reluctant to share, as it'd make me a willing participant in being a punching bag in my opinion.

What should I share? Be specific. How can I help you help me?

If your really want help...find someone you trust and ask them privately...or go to the Advice forum because it is no flame and it is against the rules of the forum to repeat anything said in that forum in another one.

There is a lot of piss-taking on here PcP but it's very rare that those on the boards don't reach out to people to support them when they ask for help. I've had my own up's and down's in here, and when shit got real, it was people on this board who helped to steer me back to the surface.

I would suggest that if you do acknowledge there is a problem, don't be dependant on the people on the board doing the heavy lifting for you. My suggestion is to seek professional help. Go to your doctor, talk to them about the depression and see what they suggest. It may be therapy, it may be medication, it may be a combination of both.

Whatever happens, take the journey seriously. It can be a lot of work, but beating depression is achievable.

I was just coming back to suggest he do just that if he was serious about getting help and not just trolling again.

I've asked the mods to move it.

Hi PC

it might be better for you to have this thread moved to the Health and Wellbeing forum...it's a no flame zone

http://www.justusboys.com/forum/forums/58-Health-amp-Wellbeing

edit: you guys beat me to it

I was hoping it wouldn't get moved. This forum is meant for the responses I'm looking for, but has much less activity than preferred. I feel many members won't see it, and it will receive less helpful advice than it would in the "Hot Topics" forum regardless of "flaming".

Don't worry about less traffic. Once you post, it's out there. I've posted a problem I had a couple months ago and it was not in Hot Topics either and I still got plenty of helpful advice.

It'd be easier to help you out if you tell us a little more about yourself. Feel free to PM me as well.

Don't worry. People will see it. The footprint is still in Hot Topics linking us to here.

If you rather it be public instead of PMs as suggested, then start.

It is likely you have seen this coming on. Your posts suggest you've been building to this with small glimpses of your situation. You mentioned the clutter, a general tendency not to leave the apartment, and your alcoholic father.

How long has it been since you worked or went to classes. Your post about your homework assignment suggested you are taking courses online.

I guess one place to start is to come clean if you've not been honest. It's not that we deserve the facts so much, but that you have to start off from a real footing.

Care to share some basics?

I no longer attend a University, and haven't been employed for over 3 years. What basics should I share?

Most Jubbers are not trained therapist. If you have diagnose depressive, seek professional help, like a psychiatrist. You will have a better chance of getting better, if you'l excuse the pleonasm...

Different people have different ways of getting attention in the forums. Until now, you've chosen a method that has gotten you attention but hasn't allowed people to get to know you. What you perceive as "being the punching bag" is just the attention that you were seeking.

It's up to you what you want to share however you might want to consider what you're doing here. If you want people to get to know you, you should be honest about yourself. You shouldn't ask people to tell you what to share. It should just be a natural process.

The purpose of the JUB forums is not as a primary source of therapy (it's a porn website with a social forum). That social aspect of the forums can be support or advice but it doesn't replace the help of a professional therapist.

As Dejavudoo and others here have said, you should try a little to let down your defenses and reveal -- yes, expose -- a little of your real self.

Start by telling us you real first name and your real age, maybe even your real location. After those baby step in exposing the person in pain that you want us to help you with, then decide what else you feel safe in revealing.

^ What Kara wrote.

I also suspect Aspergers may be one of the issues you face, but there is no question that you need the help of professional psychotherapists and psychologists to help you with your life.

None of us on JUB can actually help, except to encourage you to be a full partner in optimizing your own mental health.

This thread would seem to indicate that you may be ready to make an attempt. Admission of serious depression...even on this forum.... is a start.

Good luck. We'll be looking forward to hearing that you have reached out to a mental health care provider. In the meantime, as has been suggested, the only way that anyone else here can help is by 'listening', so to speak, by reading what you are thinking and feeling and then being able to put it into some life situation context.

I think you'll find the posters are very sincere.

If on the other hand, you are only really sorry that the thread has been moved because secretly you enjoy the fireworks and flames, then everyone can see right through that as well.

Thanks for reaching out. Please, above all else, find a health clinic and discuss your health concerns over with a medical professional -- maybe medication can help -- medication helps me deal with my bipolar disorder

I've watched these pcp3t3 threads but have not said much. I like you Pete and I think you're trying hard as best as you can. I am not so sure depression is the root issue although that may be there. Have you considered Aspergers Syndrome?

Since this is a "no flame" zone, I ask the moderators to look into all members calling me "Pete" in this thread. I consider it "flaming" as it's not my name, something I wish to be called, and consider it heckling.

My post has been removed too, I don't understand why.

Fair enough. You don't like being called Pete. What should we call you? Pcp3t3 is unpronounceable. What strikes me as curious is that after all the advice and kindness spoken to you in this thread, your only response is about the name.

I suspect the peculiar way you communicate on this board has to do with your isolating yourself from real people in your real world.
This is an observation, not a criticism. Your fellow JUBbers are willing to listen and help, but even the medical professionals here cannot take the place of the real life help you need.

You aren't orally speaking to me, so there isn't a need to "pronounce" Pcp3t3. Care is hard to accept if addressing the pupil at hand correctly is deemed petty or a "task", in my opinion.

If not being addressed appropriately/correctly makes me feel uncomfortable, offended, or in anyway "hurts" my feelings, I'd think that'd be more than enough of a reason to cease any unwanted behavior. That's in my opinion.

Side note: To anyone who means well, have addressed me correctly, and have given advice thank you. Your responses have been insightful, and you'll receive a response to your inquires in due time. If they're deemed imposing/too difficult to reply to, I ask that you be patient and not take offense to any indirect answers/refusal to answer.

I'm beginning to think you are not serious about getting help. You keep responding about the least important aspect of anything.
Get the meat of the subject.

Good luck.

I know that being called (Pete) bothers you a little bit and I would not encourage anybody to keep calling you it however the posters appear to have given you some advice and have been as friendly as they can you could respond to the good as well as the bad.

I do think you should seek some medical advice if you do have a problem and find it hard to make the next step, perhaps try joining a mental health forum they motivate each other in taking the next step because JUB can only do so much.

Fair enough. You've made your point.

Now, back on topic... do you wish to respond to the advice you've been offered?

Consider the topic of this thread, and consider your behavior here. Either you are sincere in wanting to change, or you are manipulating your own illness with petty complaints to ensure YOU don't have to change and can continue to accuse the world of being wrong instead.

Consider carefully, as you will receive much less charitable benefit of the doubt if you continue this confrontational distraction.

Well said! I think Pcp3t3's problem/illness runs so deep that it is beyond the help of well-meaning JUB'ers. Contrast his posting here with the latest one of his on Hot Topics about wanting suggestions on how to masturbate. The one a supposedly serious plea for help (even though it was originally posted in Hot Topics, where it would be seen by more JUB'ers), the other a typical, frivolous cry for attention.

Whatever motivates Pcp3t3 is perplexing and suggests deep and severe disconnects with more normal people.
