Actually, one of the few beers that I find to be tolerable, is Rickard's Red...I highly recommend it, as a person who hates beer.

I'm also trying, a bit unsuccessfully for now, to acquire a taste for Guinness.

If you're not nuts about plain beer try a lager and lime (not bitter) or just try a decent beer like Sam Adams or Brahma.

one of my accounts used to work for schlitz. they have a sign hanging in their hall that says "when you out of schlitz, your out of beer" in greek. there is schlitz stuff all over the place at that house.

But Gmoney nailed it when he shared Rolling Rock. That is one of the best and most refreshing beers on the market. I know lot's of folks like the darker beers, I'm a lager man myself. And Rolling Rock is one of the best. Not sure if it's available around the country. They use rice in the brewing, giving it a very nice and light flavor. And it's killer.
Now I know that gmoney has great taste for the fine whiskeys but I didn't know he knew fine beer as well.

It is funny, because Miller and Bud Light are so popular yet they are the nastiest. I guess it is because people are cheap so they get it.

I think it is an acquired tasted for most beers, but there are some that many genuinely like.. Like Heinekens!

Either way, I prefer hard shit.. Like vodka, tequila, etc.. Screw beer! It takes so much to get drunk anyways, whereas it just takes a few shots and you are wasted!

Took me a while to be okay with beer, too. When I saw you asking if there were others better than CRUDweiser Light, Shiner immediately came to mind (you're in Texas), but GL247 beat me to it. I haven't seen that stuff in years, because it rarely migrates outside of Texas.

I can't think of any beer which doesn't have at least some bitterness in its taste.

On the other hand, I know a couple people who absolutely think that Scotch tastes great. OH MY GOD, what horrible vile swill! Probably the worst shit I've ever tasted...

I was curious about tasting Dos Equis.

The Dos Equis Special Lager is not going to taste all that much different from the Bud Light you tried. Try the Dos Equis Amber. It's a little sweeter in my opinion. It's definitely fuller, broader. But it's not heavy like the Guinness you tried.
