Title says it all. Im in the nashville area and I have no idea where to get started with this. I am 21 years old, (about)5'8, 130 pounds. I would definitely identify as a twink. I dont have many inhibitions about what I would be doing, except no BB, no sounding, and im not very interested in doing bdsm. Im HiV negative.

So does anyone know a porn studio in tennessee, preferably nashville/middle tn area?

I dont think it matters where you live. I think most of the Internet sites like Sean Cody Randy Blue, Corbin, etc, use guys that are not from LA or whereever they film. actually, that goes for any porn studio really. The guys send in pictures to the sites along with whatever other info the site wants to know, and if the site is interested, they'll contact you, and then fly you out if they want to use you. So you dont have to have a porn studio in your area.

The largest talent scout for the industry is http://www.fabscout.com. There is information there on what you need to do to get started.

You can also give me a shout. Send me a PM, I can help steer you in the right direction. I've worked for a lot of the studios and I know people from most of the rest.

I'm in Tennessee too. Maybe we can start a studio in my bedroom. :D

I think most of the porn studios are in California. So, you will need to relocate.

Unlike other people here, I would urge you to perhaps reconsider your decision about going into porn.

You said that you're 21 years old. Do you know what you want to do with the rest of your life?

Do you want to make porn your permanent career, or is this something you are doing just for the short-term to make money, or just for fun?

In today's world of the internet, everything follows you. Even if you use a "porn name" (which almost all performers do), your videos of you having sex and your explicit photos will be released out into the internet. Once they are released, they can never be un-done. Even if they are taken down by a website, somebody has saved or downloaded your videos & photos.

If you go into porn, you can probably forget about eventually finding work in any kind of career that involves children, going into high-profile politics, or working in a high-level position for a major company or firm. Because once your "porn past" is discovered, you WILL be promptly fired. Unfortunately, that is the reality of the world we live in.

I don't want to be the person to rain on your parade, but before you seek work in the adult entertainment industry (porn) you should stop & carefully think about the repercussions it will have on the rest of your life.

Lastly, if you do wish to make your porn your permanent career, you should know that the pay is not stellar. With the internet and studios churning out new porn videos daily, the days of "gay porn superstars" are long gone. Almost all guys who work in porn supplement their income by working as bartenders & go-go dancers in gay bars, and many also work as male escorts, advertising on sites like "Rentboy". That's where they get the real money. You could say that some guys in porn use their porn work to promote themselves as male escorts, because that's where the real big bucks are.

Again, I think you should strongly reconsider whether going into porn is the best decision for you. Regardless of what you decide, best of luck to you.

Just curious... what does an audition for porn look like? Once they decide he has a marketable look, do they tell him to jerk one off and act sexy on camera or in front of a crew to test him? I'd imagine there is some kind of interview also.

I thought I wanted to be in the porn industry once. I thought I'd make a damn good fluffer... and I'd be getting paid for something that I enjoy doing anyway.

Ugh.

There is no such thing as a "porn audition."

I used to get so sick of losers calling up smaller studios I worked for when I had to answer the phone and have creepy losers call and ask if they could come in an audition. I'd tell them "there is no audition. If you are cast its not done by you coming down here, there is nobody here to blow you and no, it's not like Flashdance with you wanking in front of a panel of 8 people looking bored."

Models are cast using many different criteria and your "audition" is your first scene. If you can't perform, the scene is cancelled, you get a kill fee and we all go away happy. If you can, the scene comes out and you probably get asked back to perform more.

There is no such thing as a fluffer. There is no person on staff whose job it is to blow guys to get them hard.

That's a silly urban legend. It doesn't happen.*

This just isn't true. Just the ranting of a bitter kid who can't get laid and spends most of his time ripping other people down since it takes less effort than building himself up.

My doctor was a Colt model. My real estate agent made porn in the 90s and my personal trainer has, too. So has my best friend who works at NASA.*

My neighbor made porn movies in the 90s while he was a buyer for a huge department store in New York and he now owns his own designer sex toy manufacturing company. I made porn and it was a fun diversion but my career was... Oh right, I was vp of a porn company. Ok, bad example.

Another relatively well-known porn star is a mechanical engineer who is currently working on next-generation pace makers. I also know a couple architects, a structural engineer and a guy who works as a life coach. Another guy I know who is a very big porn star owns a company that designs and manufactures costume jewelry for department stores and I know a few makeup artists and oddly enough, a librarian.*

So don't buy this silly notion that all you can do after making porn is gogo dancing, escorting or bartending. It's just some guy trying to rip on porn stars so there's someone he feels he can look down on. *
