Just got out of the hospital, was there for four days. As you probably know, I am mostly blind, have been dealing with that for a few years. I woke up Tuesday morning with incredible back pain. In between screams of agony I managed to put on some shorts, socks and shoes. I stood in my room not knowing what to do, I had to pee really bad. That is when I realized that I could barely walk. I also could hardly move my arms.

I made my way to the kitchen for a drink of water, every short step I took was met with horrific pain. As I try to reach for the glass I realized that I could not even pick it up. I called my partner but he said that he could not get away for about an hour. Called everyone around but all my friends were too far away. Eventually my next door neighbor came and took me to the emergency room. It was a short ride but I screamed all the way there. It took six paramedics to get me out of the car and into the hospital.

Eventually they were able to put me on a bed and started giving me medications for stress and pain. I was admitted and taken to a room. The next 48 hours were terrible, lots of tests, blood work and MRIs of neck and back. Nothing worked for the pain, I simply could not move. The doctors were baffled as to what was wrong. A neurologist ordered a MRI of the brain.

The following day my world crumbled. The MRI showed a great deal of white matter. I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. I cried and sobbed along with my husband. It seems that I have had MS for a while. I was discharged after almost five days and sent to a rehab facility. The place was something out of a horror movie. We decided that I could not stay there.

I am home now. Have appointments with neurologist and my primary physician starting tomorrow. I will have to go through physical and occupational therapy as well as medications to try and control the pain and calm down my spasms. I'm getting around very slowly and with a cane. Thanks for reading this. One never knows what can happen.

as if the world doesn't throw enough bullshit at us - then we have to fight our own bodies - all the best to you buddy -

I am sorry of you continuing health problems. I hope therapy and meds work for you.

I will keep you in my prayers. (*8*)

A good friend of mine was diagnosed with MS years ago. I forgot specifically what it was that she said along the way but it has something to do with lightning as a way to reverse it.

I wish you the best ((()))

Best wishes thoughts and prayers to you.

I am very sorry to learn of your MS diagnosis. 2 members of my family have it. I hope that everything goes well with you and that the doctors are able to bring your MS into remission.

Thank you all for the well wishes. It has been a difficult time for us. We are waiting to see an MS specialist but it will be a couple of weeks. Got to see my super cute doctor, gosh he is just so handsome, he gave me some meds for pain and to help me sleep. I cried a lot while in the hospital but I am dealing with it a lot better now. Just feeling a little scared. Thanks to you all again.
