I don't agree with Democrats on everything, and they can be homophobic, too, but for me it's the lesser of two evils. After GW's disastrous presidency and 8 years of his moral pontificating, I vowed never again to vote Republican. If I don't like a Democratic candidate, I'll vote third party and call it good.

Far better to vote 'third party' than to stop voting -- I wish everyone saw that!

Thanks for defending conservative values I consider myself a true libertarian. and I hold to many of the conservatives views. The exception is when it comes to religion, which I believe has been the most destructive and freedom suppressing force ever imposed on mankind. I expressed some conservative views in this forum some time ago and was pounced on viciously and have avoided this forum for some time feeling that it is inhabited by narrow minded individuals who are no better than the bigots they openly hate.

The teacher spread out platform agenda for today's political conservative and liberal. I realize, I do have a lot of similarity in conservative issue except that I'm gay, I don't believe in religion and pro choice. I agree with the rest of issue in conservative choice.

Are you attempting to tell us that conservative people place no value, upon the environment, or human rights? Or, are you saying that such matters are purely the preserve of people, who do not hold conservative values?

Your judgements suggest that you are confusing conservatism, with corporate fascism.

Corporate fascists are as likely to vote Democrat, as they are Republican.

This is just wrong. The freedom the colonies had under England was the freedom to do what England told them to. They didn't want to pay taxes, incidentally levied to pay for the debt incurred defending the colonies; but then England gave them no say in the decision to levy those taxes.

Sorry, but the American Revolution was a conservative revolution, the goal of which was nothing more nor less than preserving "the ancient rights of Englishmen". They were opposing a reactionary regime which wanted to roll back rights and treat Englishmen as property (as was the case on Hannover). Tories were not conservative; they were loyalist, which may or may not be conservative -- it's just loyal, usually to the institutions and slogans, regardless of content (e.g. Russians who did their best under the Soviet Union because it was what Russia was at the time, while thoroughly hating the Soviets).
