I'm Confused! Changing JUB Forums [MERGED]

I agree with everything except the keeping of a religion forum. So I guess that is a thumbs up.

Despite the complaints, the changes seem to have worked. The board is more active as seen by the number of people online. I know some people are hellbent against change even when its for the good of the board, but sometimes change is necessary. I'm sorry that it pissed some folks off, but given that there are about 200 extra people on the board at any given time now, I think it was the right thing to do.

This isn't our space. Even those who pony up the $30. Seth'n'all just let us play in it. And the changes they made - meant to increase traffic to the site, and presumably increase profits so the site can remain up and running - are certainly not major. Hell, I hadn't even noticed them until I saw this thread. So the porn is now listed above the "non-porn" stuff. Is this really all that problematic? That you have to choose option 14 from the drop-down menu instead of option 2?

Celebrating differences means that the black posts don't have to be separated from the jock posts. Why should an Asian post have to go into an ethnic forum instead of just a hot guy forum?

I agree with you when it comes to race and ethnicity but when it comes to heavier or bearish guys, this is highly idealized. Even within the the bear/chub/daddies forum there were posters who couldn't help but post "Ewwww, he's fat" when an image of a heavier guy came up. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like merging the forums will only encourage that sort of thing. I'm willing to wait it out and see but it seems like it will only make more work for the mods unless you guys don't feel like moderating that sort of thing anymore, I guess it's fine either way, it doesn't really bother me personally but it clearly does for other people.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

The owners and mods are hellbent on making this site a real community,this is what I know to be true after St Louis,gave me restored faith in that.

FOLKS,they really do care,and this reshuffle is proof.Real,down to earth people.

I wasn't in St. Louis, but having worked, (long distance), with with the mod squad and admins, I can tell you that what Bradlee says is true. We really do care about this site and what we can do to keep it the best gay community, period.

I have nothing to add, these Forums/fora are truly one of the most special places on the entire Internet.

No [re]arrangement or configuration of the Forum section will be perfect to everybody. I think the fact that I only have one minor disagreement with the placement of only one of the Forums, speaks well of the decisions made. As I didn't give any input about the arrangement and grouping. it could certainly be worse.

All in all, for the size of this site, it's pretty user-friendly and easy to find one's way around.

But, I honestly didn't notice right away because I only really come in hot topics.
