I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary results!

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

I think your sarcasm and dismissal of the Clintons' experience is not very convincing. What exactly makes you believe so strongly in Obama's credentials? Please try harder to convince me; it will be good for the country to continue this debate intelligently.

I'm not talking about the Clintons' experience I'm talking about Hillary Clinton's experience. She wasn't president, she wasn't vice president, she wasn't even a member of the cabinet. I just don't understand what exactly this political experience is she's claiming she has that gives her the edge over Obama. Which is why I choose to vote based on the issues and the plans they have the for the country.

First and foremost, he seems like a wonderful, genuine person. I'm sorry but I've never gotten that vibe from Hillary. The first time I really paid attention to her as a presidential candidate was during the HRC forum and she disappointed me. I just felt like steaming hot bullshit was spewing out of her mouth the whole time. Granted, the same could be said for both Edwards and Obama when asked to explain why they support civil unions but not full on marriage. I wasn't even aware of her comments about Gen. Pace until then, and I'm not happy about them.

I like the idea of cutting income taxes to offset the payroll tax.
I like his commitment to glbt issues.
I like the idea of cracking down on employers who hire illegals.
His plans for protecting social security and strengthening retirement savings make sense to me; sound doable--he's firmly against privatization
Health care was the only thing really keeping me from deciding between the two because I know Hillary was a champion for Universal back before it was the popular thing to do, but upon researching their plans they don't look much different to me. Maybe someone can correct me.
I've heard Hillary say a lot about fixing our diplomatic ties, but at the same time she seems a lot more war happy than Obama, which makes me skeptical.

And a few other issues that don't exactly come to mind this late at night lol

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

Obama motivates young people, which impresses older people.

maybe

Or, perhaps people want a breath of fresh air from the status quo, which he seems to provide.

All he says is "Yes, we can. Yes, we can change. Yes, we can.", I'm so tired of listening to his speeches filled with empty promises. Plus, I'm also so pissed off by the media, which has always been very friendly to him while being tough on Hillary. The whole election has been unfair to her. She is betrayed by voters. I just can't describe how sad I am seeing the results.

I'm so confused as to why people keep saying that. If you're watching some shitty 30 second ad of course that's going to be the jist of it. But if you watch his interviews, speeches, and listen to him in the debates, he has given lots of specifics as to his plans for the country.

I just keep hearing Hillary supporters saying that same crap and it's just not true.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

Not to mention this 64 page document setting out How He Can. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

Thank god you guys have mentioned this. Its amazing how lazy people have gotten and just spit back this ridiculous notion that he has not offered up any specifics. Thats just a Clinton talking point that her fans are regurgitating! Of course if you only listen to a 5 minute stump speech, its not going to be filled with policy, but if you take the time to research positions, you can pretty much answer your questions.

Don't cha know? Being married to the president is experience. ..|

I was planning to have some surgery soon. My surgeon is not immediately available, so his wife will be doing the operation.

She's had lots of experience. She's been married to a surgeon for years.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

Just for the record, I do NOT have a problem at all in having President Clinton assisting his wife in her job, should she win. I think the man is brilliant and has a heart of gold, two things we desperately need in the White House.

And we shall have those two things, in Obama.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

I know, i hate OBAMA!!

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

You should not hate him, although it is a fact that many people in this country hate him just because he is black. How about that for an obstacle...

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

Obama or Hilary would be much better than what the Republicans are offering. I for one will support the Democratic Nominee. I voted for Hilary in the primary because I believe she is the best candidate. Should Obama win the nominee, I will support him without reservations. The republicans have spent 8 years screwing up the world. It's time for peace and prosperity.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

I'm not a big fan of Obama, (or his fans for that matter,) but nothing could ever make me want to vote for mccain or any republican candidate...

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

I don't hate anyone even if I may hate what they say, do, or even believe. Sure, there are some who will not vote for a woman or a person of color, but those are votes that a democrat would be unlikey to get anyway. But I also know people who are frankly a little racist who see Obama as not really black, just as a lot of racist men don't see Halle Berry as black. Hell, there are gay men who forget they are gay around Halle.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

What the hell is going on now? What's so special about Obama? Inspiring? Charismatic? I just don't see any of it. If he gets nominated I would rather go vote for McCain.

The media is spinning this too much.

Obama is doing well in the primaries but both he and Clinton need 1,000 more votes to even get the nomination.

Don't give up just yet.

To me he has the same empty rhetoric that Democratic senators/congressmen had when they were trying to get elected "we'll bring change! we'll bring charges against the Bush administration!" and then they did nothing.

Obama doesn't have a record of making mistakes. Every politican makes mistakes, do you really want him to make them as president of the US? especially when we're in such dire straights?

It really isn't a good idea to elect him...I don't think he could take the pressure and if he did ANYTHING wrong...they'd say it was b/c he was a black president and we'd never have another one again for 100 years.

If Hillary messes up you can blame it on her being a Clinton more than being a woman.

Re: I'm so dissapointed at tonight's primary resul

People should vote for the Democratic nominee, there is too much at stake. I don't think Obama is qualified and I don't think we know much about him and I think, below the surface, he has run a cynical and nasty campaign while preaching inane (with apologies to Ted Sorensen) inspirational sermons in public, but a Democrat in the White House is better than a Republican.
