As a lifelong Democrat who believes in Democratic principles and that the power to engage those principles is achieved through a strong Democratic party, one of the things that pissed me off during the 2008 primaries was the total disrespect from Obama and his Democratic supporters towards President Bill Clinton and his legacy. He was a triangulator. He was a racist. He didn’t really do right by GLBTs in the military with DADT. All we heard was how Obama would do so much better than Hillary because look at how awful Bill Clinton was when he was in office. And any suggestion that Obama was inexperienced was dismissed as irrelevant or racist. You’d have thought that the Clintons were Republican to hear the fauxprogressives talk.
Remember this?
On Tuesday's The Situation Room, CNN's liberal political analyst Donna Brazile, formerly an advisor to both Bill Clinton and Al Gore, hinted that she was racially offended by some of the former President's recent attacks on Barack Obama. Invoking Clinton's labeling of Obama as a "kid," and his accusation that some of Obama's claims are a "fairy tale," Brazile expressed that, "as an African-American," she found Clinton's comments "depressing." Brazile: "For him to go after Obama using 'fairy tale,' calling him a 'kid,' as he did last week, it's an insult. And I tell you, as an African-American, I find his words and his tone to be very depressing."

I was reading through Krugman's blog yesterday and came across these revealing graphs:
They’re hyped as a way to show how bad the Dubya economy was and how wrong Kyl is about his economic opinions, but what they really show is how good we had it under Bill. One of the graphs shows how we’ve essentially erased any employment gains from the time Dubya took office, but really, the amazing thing is the exponential function that represents job creation during the Clinton years.
The other graph shows the incredible amount of federal revenue generated during the same time period with the same result. Up during the Bill years, complete erasure of any gains made during the Dubya years. Dubya was handed a surplus budget. Now we have record deficits.
Yeah, well that was then and this is now. Evidently all is forgiven, because now we have this:
Obama leaning heavily on Bill Clinton for election help
It seems somebody realizes they are in over their head.
That wrascally wracist Bill Clinton still has the longest democratic coattails out there. And Hillary Clinton has those astronomic poll numbers.
Then there's this:
Bill Clinton back in the White House, holds economic meeting with Obama
Wasn’t part of the reason that we got stuck with Obama the idea that we wouldn’t have Bill around the West Wing? My, how the worm has turned.
