taj mahal a hindu temple lol
from knowledge the prince/king built it for his wife as a burial place and he was about t build his own across the riv known as the black taj mahal but his son did not let him ( btw, they were muslims so where did a hindu temple come from?) and where are you taking this class? our history class in highschool was more accurate, but since eurimouse, me and others who are indians know more about our culture then whats in the textbooks, its like how you know more about yours then we do, i was born and raised in canada but i still dont know a 100% of the other cultures here, and pakistani's have a lot of similar thing with india not just the few places that line the loc, i am half paki and half indian pakistanis and a good chunk of india follow islam the only main differences we have religion, we all wear similar clothes, food, heck all watch indian movs, soap operah, and music, the only reason there a fights between pak and india are because of brits if they didnt make pakistan then there would have not been all the bloodshed, riots and stuff between hindu, sikh and muslims, through all these years

Yeah, I was a little Disappointed when I went to India, didn't see any of those Bollywood types, even when I went to New Delhi, the majority of them are so frail and skinny. Kind of like watching Mexican TV the soap stars just don't look Mexican, they look more like from Spain or Italy. But on the other hand, your pics are really great of these Indian guys and I am sure I will find my Indian dream boy one day.

And just to back you up about the Taj Mahal being a Hindu temple: there is a conspiracy that the Taj Mahal was a converted Hindu temple. For more about this, read PN Oak's books (who, by the way, questions much else of Indian heritage). But I think grand ol' Zack is reading and believing a little TOO much of that.

If there is one good thing that has come out of Zack's ignorance though, is more action on this thread

Cant resist telling Zack, since he repeatedly identifies his nationality, Im so glad we knocked you British buffoons out from our home by 1947.

And never mind how his 101 course influences him - we Indians all consider ourselves one nation - pretty much a mix of ethnicities but one proud nation all the same.

Foreign origin of rulers notwithstanding we KNOW that they all absorbed themselves into mainstream Indian culture - except of course the last and should I say the least imaginative of the lot.....

In any case we've never felt the need to speak in terms of nationality in the crudely ethnic manner that Europe used and imposed upon the rest of the world - and which dear Zack supposes is the last word in the making of a nation state.

Also Im ever grateful that you Brits chose not to integrate with us, hiding away in your artificially created enclaves and cantonments - unlike the Mughals, Kushans, Parthians, Bactrians and even some Greek and later Persians, not to foget the Arabs (who of course chose a trade route to join us).... all of whom came, lived and loved the land they chose to conquer - and whom we learnt to respect and admire because they ingrained in themsleves the idea that is India.

So we're are doing fine without tainted Anglican blood in us. Thank you very much. You left only a language behind (and maybe the legacy of the world's worst bureaucracy) - thanks to which we can at least let our disgust of you be known more universally.

Of course, I promise this is the last time Ill speak on this matter. Im not normally racist in my approach to life.....

But given an arrogant twit, who thinks he's the cat's whiskers because of some introductory course on South Asia he's attended - I like to set the record a little straighter than it has been in this thread.

And that mainly because youve been crudely opiniated, grossly underinformed, and very disparging of non- Caucasian ethnicities that contributed to the making of my country, Zack. Something which I feel more than slighted about.

And your discription of India regarding your holiday is nothing new to us who actually KNOW India. Any foreigner could've told you that that is the REAL India - the smell, the heat, the poverty. What you guys like to see is all the gleamed-up stuff, which, before you bunk it off, DOES exist in India too. You just didn't know where to go to see that kind of glory. Surprising really, considering you exhault your knowledge of India.
