The diference between an Oreo and a chocolate chip cookie is entirely a matter of taste. They don't even compare.Sony laptops cost more than HP's. HPs cost more than Dell. Zunes cost more than Sony MP3 Walkmans. Generic-brand cookies cost less than the name brands. Do you get equally angry and call people names when they make such decisions about which devices suit their needs?
Techonology does compare. a GB for Apple is a GB under any other system, paying twice as much per GB means you're not half as interested in obtaining technology as you are in obtaining a certain sense of style and prestige.
Some people also have different watches, shoes, belts, jewellery to go with their outfits. Some people paint their houses coz they get bored with the colour scheme. Personally, I own one phone that is also my music player - but I don't begrudge people who make aesthetic choices. If they have the money, let them enjoy it how they see fit. There was no evidence in the OP that suggests his iPad was purchased for style over substance: quite the opposite, he spoke specifically about its functionality. And as he said above, why are aesthetics sneered at anyway? People often buy cars, furniture, clothes, homewares, based on aesthetics. Why can't portable devices be aesthetically pleasing?

If you like based on an aesthetic level i can learn to respect that. The ONLY reason im knocking the OP is because he thinks emailing spreadsheets is a recent apple innovation lol. Im sure he'd shit himself if i showed him an Apple egg timer.

You know its funny, I only glanced at the title and read it as 60% of all iPhones pirated lol. Glad I took a second look. I stopped trying to understand sheeple after I worked in retail, it always ends up with the ideas going in circles.
