i just got back from watching it again! this time at imax!

i was one walking nerdgasm throughout the film. i was really impressed with this movie, the story was fairly faithful to the source material. the updates (afghanistan for southeast asia, jarvis as a super computer, etc.) were well done and the bonus scene at the end of the credits? awesome!!! :mrgreen:

I MADE my friends and everyone sitting around me that was within earshot stick around for that last scene. Turns out, it was worth it.

Robert Downey Jr. is one sexy, sexy man. Besides Hugh Jackman's Wolverine and Chris Evans's Human Torch, I think he's the sexiest superhero yet.

Yeah, most secret endings aren't really worth it, but this one was awesome!! Can it be reality? Who do you think will be involved? And it was good to see THE badass motherfucker ..|

I loved loved loved Iron Man!! I'm with all of you -- Robert Downey Jr. is HOT! Can't wait to see him in The Incredible Hulk!

I was listening to a review of the movie last night and one of the comments made involved the idea that that exact scene should be at the end of The Hulk and any other upcoming Marvel films, that way they can easily do the movie suggested.

That'd be one super expensive movie to make though. I mean, we're talking A-List actors all around here.

And I didn't really want to see the Hulk but after Iron Man turned out so well, I want to see it just to see Robert Downey Jr. in it. Who knows, maybe it'll be good. I know I didn't expect to like Iron Man as much as I do.

^ i have to say i was a little leery when i heard they were making another hulk movie. i liked the first one myself but at the same time i could see how a whole lot of people didn't. when i saw the trailer it felt like they were trying for a wider audience. i don't know, i'm curious to see it but if this rumor about 'that' extra scene? it may well be worth going to see it. and yeah, if they do go in that direction that would be one very expensive movie.

Comic book adventure "Iron Man" proved its mettle at the North America box office, kicking off the summer movie season with estimated weekend ticket sales of $100.75 million and marking an unlikely commercial rebound for its star, Robert Downey Jr.

The tally far exceeded expectations of an opening in the $70 million to $80 million range for the three-day period beginning Friday. All told, the movie grossed $104.25 million, counting receipts from Thursday evening previews, according to studio figures issued on Sunday.

"Iron Man's" U.S.-Canadian haul fell just shy of the $114.8 million grossed by "Spider-Man" in the first weekend of May 2002 -- a tally that stands as the biggest domestic opening ever for a non-sequel film.

The Marvel Comics adaptation, starring Robert Downey Jr. as the guy in the metal suit, hauled in $100.7 million during its opening weekend and $104.2 million since debuting Thursday night, the second-best premiere ever for a nonsequel, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The film also scored overseas with $96.7 million in 57 countries where it began opening Wednesday, putting its worldwide total at $201 million.

The movie, distributed by Paramount, is the first release by Marvel Studios, which has begun financing its own productions after such studio-backed hits as the "Spider-Man," "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" flicks.

i am wondering how the overall summer box office will fare. these are tough economic times and movies such as this are pure escapism... well, i'm just curious i guess.

Of course nothing will top the best summer ever of last summer. I'm only really excited about 4 other movies, Batman, The Hulk, Hellboy and Hancock and mildly interested in a couple others.

As a huge fan of X-Men, I loved Iron Man. It was totally awesome. I loved the plot and action. The guy that represented SHIELD was hot. Gweneth was amazing! She looks so pretty as a redhead.

Wait until May 22 to witness the real summer blockbuster making its big entrance at the box office.

"Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull" will set a new weekend gross record for sure.

If Robert Downey jrs fine ass isnt a reason to go see the film...lol, this is an amazing movie!!! Loved every minute of it!!

And i agree with paxton, The New Indiana Jones will be massive, The Titanic of This decade.!

I don't know about Indiana Jones. I feel the same way about it after seeing the trailer as I did after seeing the Superman Returns trailer. Hopefully the movie won't be anywhere near as boring.

I feel like the summer will be a showdown between Iron Man and Batman though as far as who makes the most.

On a side note, I wonder will there ever be a movie that tops Titanic on the gross scale.

oh i'm sure there will be but lets be honest here, there is one thing that movie had that all the summer movies don't...

teenage girls

they made titanic the box office bonanza that it was. ;)
