Wow.....just....wow. I was crying like crazy. I had to prevent myself from making the godawful noises men make when they bawl. Tosh and Owen's final moments, combined with Tosh's goodbye video programmed to kick in when someone put in the computer as deceased was just heartbreaking. I actually think the moment Tosh was pleading Owen to stop raging because he was breaking her heart was the peak though. I wonder if James Marsters will have a permanent role in the show, and torment Jack even more with his feelings for Ianto, Gwen, and John. Oh well, such a great show. Sad to see it end for this season.

Well, I didn't post these rumors earlier because they seemed a little too over the top to be true, but with tonight's finale, for sure at least part of them were confirmed with tonight's events. Anyway, read these spoilers of sorts with less of a grain of salt than there would be had they been posted where when they first appeared on the net and of course, buzz away with your thoughts on them:

Sci-Fi Pulse reports today that two of the biggest genre shows on TV - the latest BBC incarnation of Doctor Who and the even superior spin-off Torchwood - will undergo some major changes soon. They report that Torchwood, one of the best shows on TV and one of the biggest hits in its genre, will undergo the biggest facelift, losing Burn Gorman (Owen Harper), Naoko Mori (Toshiko), and John Barrowman (Captain Jack Harkness). How Torchwood could continue without Captain Harkness is a mystery to us. He's one of the most engaging actors and characters on TV and the center of the show. Sci-Fi Pulse says that they think Barrowman may come back every now and then in a recurring capacity. Pulse says that, as of season three, Freema Agyeman will join the show as Martha Jones and take over running Torchwood with the returning Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper.

They also note, in more news that baffles us, that the format of Torchwood is going to change. The show has worked successfully as a sci-fi show for adults with sexual references and dark humor. Sci-Fi Pulse reports that will change and that Torchwood will be driven more to kids. Ugh. They also report that the recently commissioned third season has only been set for five episodes instead of the usual thirteen. What?! Torchwood is performing better in the States than Doctor Who. Why are they screwing with it? The story does note that these are all rumors. Scary, stupid rumors.

It turns out much of what was rumored in, minus the idea that Jack wouldn't be in Season 3, but then again they said that he could show up in a recurring role, so this still isn't far away from what was predicted:

It's been confirmed that Torchwood, Who's awkward "mature" spin-off series, is also going to have a much shorter run for its third season. And that's not all that's changed about the BBC's Welsh "time rift" thriller.

Talking to TV Guide, Torchwood executive producer Julie Gardner has confirmed rumors that the show's third season will only run for five episodes instead of its usual thirteen. Weirdly, those five episodes are scheduled to run daily over the course of a week. Another change is the show's channel. Having debuted on BBC Three before moving to BBC Two for its second season, this mini-third season will be premiered on flagship BBC One, meaning that any prospective fourth season will necessitate the creation of a new BBC Zero channel before it can be shown in the UK.

While the question of just who will make up the crew of Torchwood this time around, following the death and disappearance of two cast members at the end of last season, is still unresolved, Gardner also confirmed that John Barrowman's Jack Harkness will return for the new season despite rumors to the contrary. Of course, now that the show's on family-friendly BBC One and rumored to be adding both Martha Jones and Rose's-Useless-Boyfriend-Turned-Cosmic-Commando Mickey to the cast next time around, expect a downturn in the amount of sex he'll be having with Ianto from now on.

Yeah I saw the first few episodes of the first season, and he was one of the reasons I couldn't watch anymore. Thats very sad news that he's joining Torchwood.

I honestly doubt he'll be there for long. I don't think Mickey's very popular, what with the whole "annoying as all fuck" thing.

And Dr. Who is worth watching despite Mickey. The rest of the show outweighs him.

I've read up on these stories. Yes, Torchwood will get a 5-part "Season 3." Most state that it is common for these shows to introduce a teaser to tide over until a full season hits the next year (similar to the Who's holiday specials).
