Video Is Canada really falling apart?

Well...at the moment, China is not threatening to make Canada their 51st state or looking to destroy our economy. So pretty easy choice to make.

So Canada making a deal with China to lower tariffs on their EV's to 6% and getting dramatically reduced tariffs in return on agricultural products today is a
total break with US trade policy. It basically pre-emptively acknowledges that TrumpCo. isn't interested in renegotiating CANMUSA trade agreement this year, busts
Tesla's stranglehold on the North American market and could, in fact result in China investing in plants and facilities in Canada as Trump also ruins the North American Autopact.

Obviously, not everyone is happy with the deals, but it marks a sea change in trade relations between Canada and the US as more an more bi-lateral trade deals are struck with other
countires. As Carney notes, at the moment, China is a much more stable trading partner than the US and Canada has learned this past year that we need to de-couple ourselves from
an over-dependent relationship with the US, hearkening back to the days when Pierre Trudeau tried to get Canada to create more east/west ties and stop behaving like a branch office of US
companies.

Sit down Nikki. You helped get it to this point.

Carney really got inside Trump's head this week.

And the trade deal between Canada and China changed the entire calculus for renegotiating CMUSA this year. Effectively Canada has indicated to Trump that we
are now working independently on our own trade and bilateral agreements and no longer looking to be saddled with the damage and chaos he wants to unleash.

We also don't give a shit if the US builds a golden dome defense shield over Greenland. Go ahead. Knock yourselves out.

Watching Trump cozy up to rrrZZZia, we can't imagine that it is the Kremlin that Kraznov is defending against, so that leaves China and Europe.

We are coming to the realization that the golden dome is just a ridiculously bloated make-work project for the US defense industry.

As I have noted a times now...at least China is not looking to make Canada a 51st state.

One of the weird things about this round of trade negotiations are the opinions out of the right wingers in the
US that China is going to rape Canada...as though we haven't been trading with China for decades
What we are dropping is the US mandated 100% tariff on EVs from China and busting the
monopoly that Tesla has had in North America.

In exchange, we get to resume trade in agricultural products.

Yup...gay as a circus. Or at least, not afraid to claim it.

So maybe it was just about women's hockey?

How embarrassing that Carney actually had to have a conversation with Trump to point out:

1. Canada has already paid the more than 4 billion dollars for the Gordie Howe Bridge.

2. Ownership will be shared by the State of Michigan and Canada

3. US steel and workers were used in the construction of the bridge.

And then to say that it was a productive conversation.
