Is CE&P Getting Boring?

the Obamafascinationhatred thing? it has to end. it is disrupting every conversation that takes place. Should it be answered?

I don't know. there are times when he hits you so many times with it along with an insult to make sure you get upset, that not answering is hardly of any consequence. the damage to the thread is done and all that is left is to defend yourself.

I could handle one or the other... but both are an intentional mix designed to make people go nuts. again.

I will ask

why are some harmless comments editted, while that behavior is never intervened on?

it seems like a reasonable question that no mod is willing to answer.

why is nick allowed to do things that the rest of us are not?

The trolls and the fact that nobody does anything about them, is one of the reasons I don't post anywhere near the amount of what I used to in here.

We're all adults here, and what's the first rule of thumb posting in any forum/group here on the Internet?

Seems pretty straight forward to me, but somehow the Moderators of JUB are supposed to find a way to rid them.

And there are several posters clearly trolling ... one has done so several times in this thread, actually.

I see that poster, but I'd bet we're not talking about the same one.

It would be one thing if they took a variety of positions, but when literally every single post they make is an Anti Obama post, and they literally have nothing else to add, it becomes very tiresome.

Hence my statement previously in this thread:

If you're referring to who I think you're referring to, then yes there is a decidedly "anti-obama" slant to their posting style, but that's not all that he's saying.

Even though those people go on ignore, I am so tired of seeing people take the bait over and over and over again.

Now there's something that I can agree with without prefix, suffix, or preposition!

I suspect mods let some get away with (and possibly encourage) ridiculous trollish behavior to keep things lively and to try to allow a perspective outside the dominant paradigm.

I think we are grown ups and we could have disagreeing posts that could spark long and interesting debates without the trollish drama.

but thats just me.

I have lost my temper a few times so I am not saying that people should be shoved out the door for that. But consistent repetitive intetnional insults and baiting? that does NOT really increase the traffic on the site or the traffic in the threads.

this thread proves that.

I do want to say this... when I have engaged in the drama with the drama queens, it got messy. when I joked and played, using humor to soften up the situation I found I had developed a new friendship.

some are not interested in the fun and humor part, and that is their right.

So we are back to the point of being first responsible for ourselves, I guess. That is the greatest challenge we all face and society has faced for as long as we have been around. so I guess this is just part of human interactions, and expecting the police, or in this case, the mods, to change human nature is unfair to them and unreasonable for us.

Wow... I'm finally glad to see I'm not the only one that is annoyed with this section of JUB. I understand the concepts of Capitalism of how people always blame the wrong sources in times of despair or a recession. It's really sad to see people complain about things that are so trivial. If people stopped blaming others and looking outside of themselves socially, they would see that they only know less then 5% of what is really going on in this world.

I AM sick of the blinded Obama hatred as well. But him being a Capitalist I still have some respect for him because I feel he's somewhat human and believes in regulating the fallen system to help the people. It will fall again over and over... I think we are just wasting time by having ANY political parties or nations. People are so mentally ill in this world they haven't a clue as to what the big picture is.

Well we all have a right to speak don't we? I know how you feel about certain people that do that. But we are all entitled to share a voice and exchange ideas as well as differences like civil people.

We as a community see people come and post things that anger us constantly. Instead of being angry, ask why they feel that way. There is never a reason for us to be angry with eachother. We are all human beings that were raised in different ways and we need to respect that. But to have a healthy discussion, we need to learn that sometimes we may disagree and that's ok. My mom wanted my bed on one side of the room 5 years ago and I wanted it next to the window. That's the beauty of life.

If someone ignores what you write or fails to understand what you are saying, remember we live in a self-centered society where its hard to think outside of ourselves. Patience with eachother pays off.

he is living a life examined. He thinks about things that matter and takes time to write his opinion.

you may disagree with him, but his approach and method of participation are a welcome and fresh change.

OMG I've been here 3 or 4 years already... I've had different accounts though. Damn Alot of things HAVE changed. Not just with me but people around me.

heres your answer in technicolor.

It doesn't matter what the topic is, in the end it always becomes about obama.

garbage collection? obamanation's fault
Foreign policy? obamadiplomacy is the problem.
Financial sector? obamanomics

What makes it so disruptive is that it always includes personal attacks by him if you disagree and then you have the avalanche of charachter assasinations that you have to answer...

always a host of personal attacks that skate just above the rules of the forum and until the issue is adressed this is the way it will be.

I would like for an Obama subforum or something and all those disruptive posts could just be spun off into a thread of their own in that subforum.

that way, the issues can be discussed without constant hijacking by this senseless and repetitive nonsense.

As I have said, I have problems with Obama, but I don't dare even mention them, because the rest of the thread then imediately devolves into a pursefight with Nick and ( insert name here) about Obama.

Until nickoles Obama hijacks end, its going to stay the way it is.

Not only has Nickole hijacked the threads, but he had managed to hijack the entire subforum.

Truer words have never been spoken.

This forum used to be decent, but a significant group of us left a year or so ago for the very reasons you've stated. How you can still bother to be arsed to read said pearls clutcher is beyond me.

But the powers that be that run this site, and in particular this subforum saw to it that they created the forum in which they have right now, right here. That's what they wanted, and they got it.

It's my first time in reading this forum in the past 6 to 8 months, and the more things change the more they stay the same on this subforum. It boggles the mind how someone can post 9,844 anti-Obama rants/posts doesn't it?

Having an agenda is fine -- but please, expand your interests, people in your real life will find you more interesting and exciting.

One guy even posted 11 times so far in this thread. Building up the JUB bonus miles, I guess.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Maybe take a longer break or I might be back tomorrow.

Not true. I was here during the Alfie debacle, and no one here has yet posted anything approaching what he posted. He maintained there was a conspiracy because it was convenient for him; it gave him a reason to bitch when he got reprimanded for making inflammatory posts.

Well, I'm struggling to see how the OP has made the forum more interesting; this thread topic certainly whining about how the forum isn't worth his while doesn't really contribute anything. It was just an opportunity for him to tell us all we're not worth his time.
