Is Elon Musk in Trouble?

Well, Bloomberg seems to think the change is likely going to erase billions in brand value...I think he has finally made Twitter unsellable to any buyer.

I also think that advertisers are not going to flock to a platform that now has no positive brand. 'X'. Where do you go with that? It has more negative connotations than positive.

I think he has finally made Twitter unsellable to any buyer.

I'm starting to wonder if his plan is now a kamikaze move: he makes Twitter completely unsellable, closes it down, and holds the entire archive of old tweets for ransom until some group of billionaires pays to acquire it just to make it available.

Naaah, Elon Musk doesn't have enough patience or self-control to pull off anything that long-term, does he?

At one time I thought he might be trying to close it down and take the loss on other peoples' money and then a pattern emerged where it was clear he really is crazier than loon shit and so self-obsessed that he really believes in what he is doing....I suspect he sees himself as Hearst or maybe some super-powerful nerd who gets revenge through controlling everything.

He has made a career out of just stealing stuff, slapping his brand on it and then looking like a genius.

That is extortion. It's actionable if that ever happens.

The most baffling part about this shakedown is that the owner of the platform is strangling the use of ex-twitter with rate limits...which is driving people to gravitate to other platforms for news and gossip.

I can guarantee him that the far right viewers aren't going to be lining up to pay for his version of Parler or Truth Social.

On principle, I refuse to pay for X. So I get something like 300 twits to view. Although the rate limit cuts in well before that and then I have to wait another 24 hours to view one or two pages.

Everything he has done with Twitter seems bizarre.

He buys Twitter with Saudi funding, runs the company into the ground...and Saudis aren't complaining about it.

To me, it seems destroying Twitter was the plan all along.

I suspect though, that he doesn't want the Sauds coming after him. And they are likely fully secured creditors.
