Yes...once I saw that the cheque was made out with the guy's name in the wrong spot and Musk's name was in the wrong spot...but might it have been deliberate to make the cheque uncashable?
It's also against the law. It's a violation of the Logan Act.

The break will come when Musk's messaging starts to crowd out Trump's...and because Musk can't help himself, that day will come quicker than he expects. Musk will be used like an attack dog in the same way that Trump used other surrogates after 1916 to unleash chaos.
The other problem Musk will run into is that eventually the more outrageous his actions affecting the general public, the greater the backlash against his brand.
He is enjoying a huge bump in Tesla stock right after the election, because of the inside access he has right now...but if Trump sours on him...that is going to have a negative impact on the brand.
