Is Elon Musk in Trouble?

So as Advertisers are getting cold feet about Twitter...

Elon musk is so good at negotiation he paid $44 billion for something worth maybe $10 and then as his first order of business has proposed a $20 monthly subscription ...and then immediately revised that down to $8 because Stephen King told him to fuck off.

He is going to need a billion dollars a year to service the debt on his leveraged buy-out... there are less than 400,000 'certified' profiles on Twitter and there are already a lot of people fucking off just because Musk and the Saudis have bought it. So at most, 400k current blue check users would raise him $38.4 million a year.

I think that basically, Elon shot off his mouth about twitter then decided to use the ensuing drama to make some quick cash. Then he go caught by the other guys and was forced to buy them out.

I saw an article yesterday that said Elon's lawyers are still trying to avoid paying.

Even Colbert was taking jabs at the idea of 400,000 people paying 8 dollars a month, pointing out that it would take over a thousand years to recover the cost of purchasing Twitter.

At the end of the day, it would have been way easier and cheaper to have paid the termination fee...there was never any way of monetizing twitter, except to make it THE international advertising juggernaut...which isn't going to happen with his erratic approach and management.

It is like how FascistBook gradually lost all of its legitimate advertisers over the last 6 years and is now just a repository for vitamin supplement scams and third world remaindered clothing...with a constantly declining engagment level by users...how many major companies are going to plunge their ad budget into it?

omg.

Musk is whining about the drop in advertising revenues and blaming 'Activists' for it.

Fuck off.

There is no campaign to destroy twitter advertising.

The reality is that a lot of advertisers are worried about their brand being tarnished if Musk makes Twitter a right wing free for all.

He's being sued in California because of all the firings without adequate notice.

At least GB and the EU have warned Musk directly of letting Twitter become a platform for hate speech.

Twitter may find it has even less influence if it tries to impose the hate speech disguised as free speech model.

And he has to wake the fuck up to the fact that advertisers are not going to want their brand associated with a platform that anger 50% of their target audience.

Valerie Bertinelli changed her verified twitter name to Elon Musk and has been sending out pro-Democratic messages.

Elon is trying to hire back some of the people he fired from Shitter. What a fucking joke.

If anyone thinks that "debate" is necessary to free speech one is just as mistaken as the people who say anything goes.

Here is the law:

...The question in every case is whether the words used are used in such circumstances and are of such a nature as to create a clear and present danger that they will bring about the substantive evils that Congress has a right to prevent...."

You can go into the precedents and individual issues if you want, but reducing that to its most basic premise, speech that incites is NOT protected and IS actionable. Being rude and an asshole is not actionable unless someone can demonstrate intent to harm as opposed to intent to insult, and if no one is willing to pursue incitement, the fault lies with the people - we elect leaders to positions of authority that are supposed to enforce the law. If we elect people who will not, no amount of complaining about it will change anything.

And the drama continues. I think the term petty b**** can now officially be applied to Elon.

Multiple actors have said their Twitter accounts were suspended after they changed their names to Elon Musk and impersonated him...

What about all that talk of freedom and censorship and people having no sense of humor? I find it morbidly amusing that Elon is perfectly happy with Trogs who lie and hate and calls for their inclusion but can't handle people making fun of him - so he censors and bans and demonstrates the definition of hypocrisy.

As rZn bots apply for checkmarks, twitter revenue soars.

So hurry on down and get your own Twitter Blue 'Official' checkmark for $7.99 a month.

And apparently you might be able to be anyone, because Twitter may not verify ID. Why Musk thinks that organizations and public figures are going to pay about 96 bucks a year when anyone else can also claim to be them is beyond comprehension.

Put the bong down Elon.

In the ongoing saga that is Elon Musk's controversial $44 billion Twitter takeover, Bloomberg recently reported that the ultra-wealthy business tycoon and self-professed "Chief Twit" is down a staggering $92 billion (yes, $92 billion with a "B") after acquiring the microblogging and social networking platform.

So, business genius, right? I saw on the TV that he's going to have to sell billions in other stock (which is depressing Tesla stock even further) to save his pasty ass as the "bird" tumbles to the ground.

I'd ask if it was wrong to enjoy someone else's misfortune if I wasn't laughing so hard.

He has apparently sold nearly 4 billion dollars worth of Tesla stock so far since buying Twitter.

But a paywall on Twitter?

For what?

Guys like him can't escape trouble like they used to when they could just sequester themselves in their castles. Most of his obnoxious behavior seems reactionary for the purpose of controlling his narrative, which he isn't very good at. could be the sex harassment settlement, racism in his company, his wacky financial status (I've never even attempted to understand the convoluted ponzi scheme that is the financial market where people sell.... money? credit? ), men like him represent the worst of humanity, what we're capable of when we're not only above reproach but legal consequences. i'm sure what we've seen is tame compared to who he is behind closed doors. despite his groupies' constant reassurance that he's the noblest, smartest, most dignified human being that ever existed-- I'm gonna wait til the people he's been stepping on all these years get to tell their side of the story. It usually goes without saying, every rich white guy's autobiography is "Born, spread glitter and glory all over the world, died, buried in golden coffin atop slave graves so he can remain above them even in the afterlife."

I know some of his "groupies" who regard him as awesomely visionary, but joke about what a jerk he is as a person.

I also know some who are totally pissed at him about the whole Twitter thing because to them that indicates he's gone off track -- Twitter has nothing to do with a grand vision of the future while Tesla and SpaceX do.
