My Facebook feed has been inundated for a month with dozens of ads from China for counterfeit U.S. postage stamps. I've reported a few, and anything I get back from FB says they won't take the ads down because they are not against Community Standards - literally saying fraud is not against Community Standards. Facebook is admitting their business model is fraud, counterfeiting, swindling, and scams.

If Zuck refuses to take down scam ads for counterfeit products on Facebook, I have no hope for "Threads" taking a stand against disinformation.

I am expecting "Parler II".
 
You are likely right ...early feedback from people trying it is that they hate it because it is all based on the same annoying algorithms that drive FB and Instagram.

So I am seeing this as likely another Meta-Fail for Zuck.

It is a shame that Mastadon can't be improved.

If "Threads" was actually serious, you would not get that confirmation message, Trump Jr. and dc_draino would not be there at all. But they aren't serious.

I don't even know who dc_draino is, but I'm sure I don't want to know either.
