All religions are the problem. Atheist and Proud!
Let me guess. You've met the nice, homogenised, pasteurised safe ones. You haven't met the raw tribal ones yet—
The difference, of course, being that no one goes around beating up chicks for not wearing bikinis.
And the burkha really does mean "a male owns me".
IDK to me every man wearing the same old boring suit to a party and women wearing all different designs and then being criticised for either being 'slutty' or a boring old cow is not that different than the Muslim women having to wear burkas.
I am sorry I can't read that post because it seems to be talking about your own country's internal tribal hatreds. The topic is about the tribal hatreds of people from the Middle East etc who EXPORT their hatreds to innocent people in my country and Europe.
Let us not forget the violent mass protests that have erupted over the years across the Muslim world in response to what most in the West would regard as freedom of speech. Three prominent examples that come to my mind include the publication of the Satanic Verses in 1988, a fictional novel that was deemed blasphemous and resulted in Salman Rushdie having a fatwa issued against him by Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran, which was followed by many assassination attempts against his life, until the British Government finally stepped in and provided him with round-the-clock police protection. Then there was the Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy in 2005, which was merely poking fun of a religious figure in a comical manner, yet it sparked violent protests across the world, not only in Muslim-majority countries, but also in countries where Muslims formed a minority. And last but not least, was the Innocence of Muslims, a laughable and crudely-made movie trailer about the life of Prophet Muhammad that came to public attention in 2012 on Youtube, and that example is so recent that I doubt anyone needs reminding of the shit storm that ensued; fatwas galore, flag burning, embassy attacking, fundamentalist Muslims foaming at the mouth like rabid animals, and so on and so forth.
At this stage, I think we all know the score if anyone dares to insult the supposedly 'peaceful' religion that is Islam. So in answer to the OP's question, yes I do think that Islam is a danger to Western civilization, in more ways than one. Islam and the majority of its followers (not all, but most) believe that their religion is infallible and even the slightest criticism is grounds for execution, and for this reason, I do not think Islam will ever be compatible with Western democracy, and nor do I think that Muslims will ever truly grasp the concept of freedom of speech, which they seem to think should not extend to religious matters.
BTW, sometimes I think that western civilization is its own greatest enemy.
And here's another aberrant, atypical, one-in-a-million incident from yesterday's news.
Ali Jaffari, 35, arrived unannounced from Afghanistan by boat and was allowed to enter the general community two years ago.
"Last year he was convicted of indecently assaulting two boys at a Geelong beach. Witnesses claimed he started grabbing and rubbing himself against them, cuddling and kissing them on the neck and telling one of the boys that he was “sexy”..
The Geelong Magistrate’s Court let him off saying he had a low risk of reoffending. Then he snatched a four-year-old girl at a cricket oval in Geelong last year while her father and brother were distracted.
A second magistrate threw out the child stealing charge and cited “cultural differences”.

A few years back a teenage girl just around the corner from my home was murdered by her father and brother for not wearing the hijab.
Any nation ruled by any kind of religious law should be expelled from the UN, and all UN members cut off all trade.
