That's what the rental storage unit would do if you haven't paid your bill. They give you 2 notices and they throw your stuff away. Screw it, you told her many times.
 
My personal opinion is that even though you gave what you considered sufficient notice (and even what most anyone would consider sufficient notice) it was still her property that you got rid of. So i think she can take you to court to recover the loss of that property. I'm not a lawyer, but sounds reasonable to me.

By the way, if you did not tell her you were going to get rid of her stuff if she didn't come get it, then yes, you were in the wrong. And throwing it away? That was NOT about clearing her stuff out for space concerns. You could have easily donated the clothes to Goodwill or Salvation Army. Revenge, control--whatever this was, it wasn't about getting her stuff out of the way.

And you know it on some level, or you wouldn't have to ask if it was the wrong thing to do.

Damn...I didnt think people would care this much about this situation.

The situation has already been resolved. He kept texting me yesterday asking me when I was gonna be on campus, I called him up told him to cut the bullshit and said exactly what I said in this thread. He said he would rather pay than go to court, and we drew up a contract, both signed it and we both have a copy.

Isnt it fun when people actually act like adults? After this is finished I can wash my hands of this entire ordeal.
