With CNN dropping 27% and MSNBC 38% viewership since the election, legacy media is rattled. Newspaper readership has already been falling...Bezos lost thousands of subscribers with his shift to shilling for Trump, NYT lost the trust of many liberals...even FOX is realizing that they may not really be relevant any more with Trump's win.

I think a lot of people are exhausted and just need a break, so they're tuning out for a while. I'm watching less for that reason. Most will be back after the holidays, is my guess.

But, yeah, these networks need to do some soul-searching too. I'm sick of CNN playing both sides on everything. They used to just call lies, lies. Now they have trolls like Scott Jennings and David Urban on panels all the time. The moderators just them lie to your face, and they're rarely challenged.

Mika and Joe really shot themselves in the foot. They act so surprised and defensive at the reaction they're receiving for kissing Trump's {something}. I'm like, what is wrong with you? Did you not see what happened with the Washington Post just a month ago for doing basically the same thing? What did you think was going to happen?

There have been a number of analysts and media gurus who are pointing out the increase in people following specific media outlets, jouranlists' blogs and sub-stacks.

Speaking of Legacy media, in this case social media, apparently the users of Xitter are losing their Xit because they have less and less centrist and liberal content to tear apart with their teeth and think it is unfair.

Meanwhile over at the CNN of social media, Zuck is also apparently rattled as people turn away from his AI saturated algorithmic fuck fest to BLue-sky. Suddenly, as happens everytime they start losing engagment, they are concerned about the user experience.

Mayeb even faster. Happy Thanksgiving from Hearst Corporation.

STD prick snots like this are one of the reasons CNN is losing half its audience:

But you go there, you irrelevant fuckwad sucking at your far right wing owner's taint. Again, all you are doing is splintering the MAGAt audience while the rest just find a different source for information.

MSNBC is trying to figure out why viewers are leaving.

I agree that some shows, like Maddow will regain audience as TrumpCo. begins to unleash a barrage of hurtful and dangerous policies and his Klown Kar Kabinet begins to fall apart.

The American people found out the legacy media has been lying too much. They made their hatred for half of America very clear. People were able to see news from both sides on X. MSNBC has its own problems, one of which is being openly racist.

Fox had to pay nearly a billion dollars for lying, so yeah.

Of course when you also have 'free speech' Elon Musk throttling links to actual news...in favour of the conspiracy nonsense and lies the constitute Xitter these days...maybe no wonder that the low information, low intellect Americans are turning away from the usual media sources.

The billionaire owner of the LA Times, who spiked an endorsement of Kamala, is now filling their ranks with right wing hacks like Scott Jennings.

Gotta get someone to lick Trump's taint.

Meanwhile, The Washington Post shed 250,000 subscribers since they elected not to make an endorsement.

The Post was already dying, 100 million in debt and losing readers, but Bezos has acclerated the death knell, because Trumpies won't be reading WAPO and the liberals no longer trust the "De,mocracy Dies in Darkness' slogan.

The scary thing though?

The GQP and the oligarchs will be cheering on the demise of papers like the Post that used to actually provide news.

Because they see Darkness as a feature, not a bug.

It will be interesting to see what the New York Times does. It has lost more than half of its readers since 2000.

It gained a lot of subscribers and readers during the first TrumpCo. regime as both liberals and conservatives engaged.

NYT appears to be trying to re-ignite their co-dependent relationship with Trump, where he says or does something, they report on it, he rails about the failing New York Times...then gives interviews to Haberman who then uses the Times as a bullhorn for his messaging...on and on...wash, rinse, repeat.

WAPO continues to insult our intelligence.

Because OAN and Newsmax are such reliable sources?

Well CNN seems to be Finding Out after they fucked around trying to grab the right wing audience.

It is pretty bad when you are behind the Food Network in viewers.

CNN's coverage of Syria and the UHC shooting has been pretty good. But otherwise they have not learned a damn thing. They are still playing "both sides" with everything and not holding anyone accountable in real time. I am so sick of seeing Scott Jennings and David Urban on panels lying to your face. Whenever I see one of those two, I turn the channel. Fascist propaganda is not a legitimate "side". CNN pretending like it is, is amoral. Giving credibility to lies by pretending like both sides are equal is bad journalism.

Yesterday, I flipped on CNN and they were interviewing Trump flunky, Jason Miller. Why is he even on? Within a few minutes, he spewed lie after lie about DOJ and the deep state weaponized against Trump and all that crap. He went completely unchallenged. It's so sad because CNN used to be so reliable. Now they don't even seem to have a journalistic conscience.

News has to report on what is going in Trump world. He will be the next president. But there are ways to do it without giving "equal" veracity to all the hate and lies, and with no moral judgement or fidelity to facts and truth.

I'm watching much more independent media these days: David Pakman, Thom Hartmann, Bryan Tyler Cohen, and some others.

A lot of viewers are shifting to independent media. I get all my news through dependable written sources that include background and reference points you can verify.

Once CNN just became another vanity project for a right wing billionaire who is openly all in for Trump, it was the end of any pretense that liberals would get any fair treatment.

As you note, they now platform Trump surrogates to come and lie about everything. All their anchors have no credibility left as they try to hang on until they retire or are parachuted out.
