Is liking twinks pedophilia?

I got a question that might sound odd is liking twinks considered pedophilia? There is a word for adults who are sexually attracted to teens. I am probably not spelling the word correctly it is something called ephebeophila? There is a website I thought about getting a membership to called Teen gay love or something like that. But I went to the site and the guys look Eastern European and they look very young like 15 or 16. Is that child porn? Is child porn looking at nude images of someone who is under 18? Also how is someone supposed to know the guy in the image is under 18? Some 16 and 17 years olds look mature and some do not? I decided not to get a membership. I heard a lot on the news about people in Canada getting charged for child porn. So what does the law consideration teenagers? I know it is illegal to have sex with someone under 18 in Canada I think. But is it illegal to look at nude images of someone who is a teen male?
 
It's illegal if they're under 18. If they're 18+ and LOOK underage, then it could be ephebophilia, but its not breaking any laws.
 
If they're over 18, then no. Maybe the ones on that website just look young for their age... although honestly, some of that eastern European porn is kind of sketchy when it comes to the age of the models, so it's probably best to avoid it because you can't be sure.

If a website has that sort of content that makes you wonder, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Even if you assumed they were old enough or the website said they were, and it turned out they weren't, you would still get in trouble.

So, you have to separate legality from psychology. It was common for 14 and 15 year olds to marry in the 19th century and before.

A pedophile is attracted to children. Someone who is attracted to the underaged but with secondary sex characteristics is a sex offender. Two different things, but not in the mind of much of the public.
 
No, liking the "twink type" of guy is not pedophilia. We all have different tastes. Some like hairy men, some like muscle men, and some like twinks. Don't attempt to make more out of it. I like all different types of men, including twinks, and I sure as hell am not a pedo and I don't feel guilty for liking them. At any rate pedophilia is a sexual attraction to someone who has not gone through puberty. Although you should never fool around with a person under the legal age, pedophilia is a word that is often missused.

An excellent and very true statement.
 
What may be overlooked is that for some, twinks represent a possible feminine quality, or perhaps frail. That is different from child-like.

The twink might also represent a less threatening encounter, or remind the attracted partner of youth and less jaded or cynical times when sex was exploratory.

Also, thanks to awful porn misuse, twink has been applied to anyone who is hairless, including body builders and athletes. Not the original meaning by a long shot.

Paedaphilia is, strictly speaking, a sexual attraction to pre-pubescents.
However in modern times it has come to mean any under-age person.
It really doesn't matter about the age, it is still illegal and immoral

The postponement of adulthood is a recent trend. I am not against it, but it is a change in an ancient concept.
 
Puberty should be the key to determine whether someone is a pedophile or not.
In "the west" people been accused of pedophile for having underage sex but way above the puberty thing is ridiculous .
 
In my day, twinks had pubic hair, chest hair, facial hair, and usually lots and lots of hair hair. It was a 'age' thing, usually from 18 to 25. These days, with shaved bodies and shaved pubes, it's all about looking younger than 18, even pubescent. That's what makes it a very difficult line to even see let alone cross.

The earliest case for male ejaculation is apparently 8 years of age. 11 to 13 is more the average. The age of onset of puberty has lowered over the last century in western countries.

In England, and Wales the legal age of consent for sexual activity is 16 years.

Paedophiles are usually identifiable by their sexual attraction to pre-pubescent children.

The age of consent varies from country, to country.
 
In Canada, the age of consent is 14 if you're straight, 18 if you're gay. Sure it's a double standard, but I think it should be raised above 14 though... that is just TOO young.
