  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Is there guy in JUB worthy to be worshiped?

Actually, I suggested a thesaurus because he's an adult and he already speaks English. The words in the dictionary are far from dead and I used little slang here. The study of semantics is alive and well, and he needs to do it. So do a others when they miss sentences like "those two are examples" and "I called you nothing."

And hell, since I've got time, while language is organic it's also highly structured. Which is where semantics come in. Not the colloquial definition of semantics, either.

As I have found out.

I've had a run-in or two with you in the past. BUT.

Most people have run-ins with me eventually- you should see my parents. On the whole it usually doesn't mean much.

You should check out the comics though, there's some awesome imagery in there. They're online so you can enlarge the images for ease of reading.

I can't believe that so many people are commenting on this. It was obvious that he used the term "worship" in the slang sense and not the literal sense.

But that's just it: for many people, there IS no acceptable slang use of worship. The word is reserved, just like some people don't use "love" casually. They won't say it unless it is a profound thing.

We don't all have to use language alike -- we just have understand what others mean as they use vocabulary.
