I don't believe there is.

This is your only life, and you should enjoy every minute of it.

What do you think?

I believe in reincarnation, and there is no way of remembering lives, so I believe this life should be enjoyed as well

If there is no reincarnation, the point of life may be to enjoy this lifetime...

I guess a bigger question for people to answer before this, is this:

What if there is no purpose to life?

Sorry no, but once you're dead that is it. You won't be floating with the angels , partying with Satan or (fill in what you religion tells you).

Yes, there is life after death. You should still enjoy and do everything you can while you're in your physical body.

Come to think of it ......no one that I know thats passed away has ever come back to let me know for sure.....I dunno !

I like to believe in a higher plane of existance, how I feel in my head right now, its far too real, too conscious to think there could be a nothingness to look forward too.

I like to believe in reincarnation, well I want to believe in it, regression intrests me, I wanna try it one day, see what happens, I dont trust it, but its kinda cool to think there could be something real behind it.

I also like to believe that the 'soul' or what ever you want to call it will exist after I die, although I am in no way religious.

I know it just seams like I'm trying to protect myself from the idea that there is nothing after life, and in some ways thats true, but I also think that if there is nothing, then I wont be depressed cos I'll be dead.

yea i died once
pretty cool

when i came back
shit it was still the same........

Some compelling info in Raymond Moody, MD's book, "Life After Death" with interviews of people who have had near death experiences and those who have clinically died and been brought back. He has another book that came out after the first with more information, "Reflections on Life After Death". I also think he now has a third book.

I was "clinically dead" twice during by-pass surgery several years ago. I had no knowledge of those episodes until several days later when the doctor mentioned it in passing while reviewing my surgery and post op progress. There were no lights at the end of the tunnel, no beckoning relatives, no out of body experience where I hovered above the operating room table and watched my death and the efforts to revive me. Nothing, nada. I remember counting backwards from 100 (think I got to 98 before all went black) and waking up in misery in the recovery room gagging on a large tube in my throat (not the enjoyable kind) and unable to move as I was strapped down.

I believe in life after death, but not in the same way most people do. I think you live on in the hearts and memories of your family and loved ones. I think the good you do lives after you (despite Shakespeare's belief that the good "is oft interred with the bones") and how you live your life will be how you're remembered in death. But of course, without life after death, religion is rendered meaningless.

Nope----nada----That's All Folks---

It would be nice to think there is something after we die.

Truth is, we live on in the memories of the ones we have met.

Unless they name a building or something after you of course. LOL

Wheater or not there is an after-life, reincarnation, or heavan/hell is up to you and your beliefs. I believe in reincarnation. That's just who I am. I think that the reason religion is widely accepted is because it promotes etrnal life. People are afraid to die because they do not know what happens. So they go for the most "pleasurable" experience. Who's to say that I'm right in reincarnation? For all I know we could die and just become worm food or fodder for plants. And we can also go to heavan/hell. Either way we do not know, and will continue to not know until we get to that point in our lives. However long that may be.

Sure there is life after death. I believe you just forget about the life you just left. You start a new life (spiritual or physical, who knows) without any remembrance of your past life. But you do carry on in another life.

I'd like to believe there is life after death. I'm not a very religious person, but I'm no atheist either. My hope is to see my mom and others that have passed when my time comes.

No.

No reincarnation either.

I don't believe there is any afterlife, or other complex metaphysical cushion for the soul that religion provides. Belief in any religious philosophy and the supernatural are therefore stories to prepare people for what death actually is. It is the total and irretrievable shutdown of the conciousness of a living entity. We don't want to give up the person we know, and want to think that a soul exists which embodies the essence and spirit of the person we know.

From a bleak scientific point of view, the soul should not exist, or any so called deity and hence afterlife, since these are what the living have cooked up to pamper their unwilling egos into some form of willing release.
