Hello Boys,
Isaiah Washington was told by the creator of the show that he will not be asked back for the new season of Grey's Anatomy. This desicion was based on the behind the scenes drama that he'd caused. I hear that he's pissed. Now that's what I call poetic justice! He's such a talented actor, It's a shame but Meh!

Was just looking for a thread to bump and break the news.

That's harsh. This whole issue is out of control.

Come to think of it, this is BS!

Whatever happened to free speech?

What happened to the days when, if someone said something that offended you you just kicked their ass and moved on?

I'm not exactly a fan, but what does the guy have to do to make it up to these people? Turn Gay?

He apologised and sought counsellings, so i am not happy about this.

Loved Burke and Cristina. They were great together. I guess thats why he left town.

How is Cristina going to manage? Although she did say, "I am free" :(

Hopefully Meridith will be there for her.

The group chemistry will be messed up. I hope he is not recast.

Ah well, whatchagonnado.

good...I hated his character anyways...so boring....Burke and Meredith are my least favorite characters on that show!

Several months too late. Nevertheless, it's good news.

Maybe Izzie will comfort Christina over Burke, and Christina will comfort Izzie over George, and..........OMG! What am I saying! Reminder to self---"your gay! Your gay!".....

Well the show has one less black guy now.. I wonder who will be the new guy to come in?

I know the shows creator is black(skin color), and she claims to have a diverse show.. but only 3 black people actually on the cast, now two :D

i still cant believe he went to rehab for saying the word faggot

But TR Knight is a homosexual.

Washington was just stating the obvious. And Knight isn't even hot. He is the one that should go, cant even pass his intern exam. George is the one that needs to go.

Gay men should not play straight roles, its wrong.

It was not believable and was so disgusting/disturbing watching him kiss Izzy and Callie.

So if Knight called Washington a heterosexual, would he be fired?

This firing reeks of double standards and injustice.

The show is going down :(

First off, who cares if TR is hot or not. Thats irrelevant.

Second, Gay men should not play straight roles, its wrong??????????
Were you recently dropped on your head or have you always been this way?
Thats the very reason we dont have more out actors in Hollywood. Lord, I expect it from straights, but not homos.

Seriously. I was so hoping they'd let her die during the whole ferry crash incident, but of course its called Grey's Anatomy. They would have had to bring her back as a ghost and she'd be even more annoying then.

So just because he's not hot to you he should go? Straight men can play gay but a gay man playing straight is wrong? That is a big load of bullshit and it sounds like you cant separate a character of a television show to the real person.

I agree with inlovewithanton, that this is one of the main reason actors stay in the closet because of small minded thoughts like the one you just stated.

Well, I,for one, think TR is hot. And nice, too! Don't dis him--he didn't cause the incident. I think it's too bad if Washington gets kicked off the show, but it sounds like he created a lot of backstage drama. Producers tend to dislike that.

Washington is reportedly a volatile set presence. He had incidents on other series that were reported on in the past, and, perhaps even worse to the producers than his offending a fellow castmate and many gay viewers, he took publicity away from their moment to shine during the awards season. The winning of such awards can translate into big bucks in negotiations with advertisers, and he stupidly took attention away from the show, and possibly even made some companies nervous about being associated with the controversy.

Considering how quiet the show's creators and producers were in handling (mishandling?) the controversy, I would not be surprised to find out that he was let go for being difficult in other ways. Really--rehab for homophobes? You don't go to a facility for rehab if you have some anger management issues. In my experience, a person who would lie in a very public forum about something that could easily be disproved is one who probably has the kind of problem that more normally requires rehab--or detox maybe? I don't believe a few sessions of therapy and an anti-bigotry commercial made him see the error of his ways anymore than I believe three weeks of counseling made Ted Haggard a heterosexual who doesn't use drugs.

Also, does anyone believe that T.R. Knight was the only homosexual working for the show who was offended by him? How many of the behind the scenes staff and even other actors might have been gay and felt disgusted to work with him after everything that happened? Or hell--hetero and disgusted to work with him?

Free speech protects you legally--it doesn't protect you from losing the big salary you make pretending to be someone else for entertaining the masses--especially if you have possibly damaged their ability to believe you anymore.

P.S. T.R. is fucking hot.

I actually liked his character before the whole fiasco. He was this loving, intelligent character and I think his character was this bridge between the mature and the young characters.

Gay men should not play straight roles, its wrong.

Actors are actors. They're marionettes. Doesn't matter who they are outside their professional careers.

Oh well, it got so out of hand, it's ridiculous... At least some decision was made, hell, I don't even watch the damn show...

I woulda brushed it off of my shoulder.. Yeah, I'm a faggot so what....

The world's gone mad yet another african american actor off screen and probably now hated he may never work again. I hope everyone iinvolved is proud wonder what would have happened had a white actor used the n word????

You know, it's unfortunate his use of an anti-gay slur gets all the press, when the original news reports focused quite heavily on how he allegedly grabbed Patrick Dempsey by the throat when Dempsey defended Knight in the argument. If he did do so, then calling someone a name and lying about it on national television pales in comparison to physical assault. And if that is what happened as reported, the coupling of a hate-filled word with violence must have made for a very tense set in the months since then.

Its not ok for anyone to call someone a faggot as a put down especially in a work environment based on people working well together as a team.

The situation here got out of hand because the guy didn't initially apologize, but repeated what he said in a public denial in an award show at a time when the series was being promoted to advertisers, etc.

Plus there were reports that he got into a fight with Patrick Dempsey and was repeatedly late and disruptive on set.

With the many thousands of other actors available out there, it's hardly a surprise that the show decided to dump this jackass.
