Isaiah Washington speaks out.. Looks like RACE was an issue!!

I'm getting really tired of people claiming racism whenever something happens to them. There are too many minorities busting their asses everyday who are held back because of their race. And, for someone to fuck up, pay the consequences and claim racism in order to not claim responsibility for what they've done is a back-handed slap in the face to them.

Maybe he needs to sit down and have a nice long talk with a hard working black man who actually lost a normal paying job and now can not afford to feed his family because the manager would rather hire his "own kind". That should give him a better idea what it's really like to be a victim of racism.

He should start a trio with Michael Richards and Don Imus, because there probably won't be a lot of job offers for any of them.
Celebrity can work for you or against you. When you make racist or homophobic remarks they will usually bite you in the butt and drastically affect your fan base.

Of course Pisces_Ken is always going to see the world in an Us vs Them light no matter what...

How did you come to this conclusion?? Because I'm always pointing out the facts... did I hit a sweet spot in my post?? Race was AN ISSUE in this case, to simply say it is not.. is pathetic.

Look I know that racism isn't anywhere, but I'm not going to sit back, and not voice my opinion when something like this comes up. Especially when its pretty obvious that it did play a role..

Please! Race had nothing to do with it. Grey's Anatomy does well with the homosexual demographic, he pissed off a bunch of homosexuals. It was a business decision. I would like to know who he thinks is going around saying "Yessah, massa sir' and 'No sir, massa' to everyone?''. He did something stupid that could affect the ratings, he got fired. End of story.

Affect the ratings??? LOL did you even see the ratings for Grey's Anatomy last season. Nothing changed in the ratings because of this..

Well, his behavior affected the writing on the show, which, in turn, affects the ratings. After all, losing Burke meant writing him out in a way which did no favors to the characters involved. Luckily for Sandra Oh, it gave her an Emmy-deserving scene in the last episode, but derailed her storyline. And now, thanks to Isaiah, we are saddled with George-as-heterosexual-love-machine sleeping with every available female cast member! (Watch out, Sandra!), which, despite Knight's talent, are hysterically awkward.
So, yeah, there have been consequences. Not that Isaiah will ever own up to them, because nothing is ever his fault, because of his skin color. :-({|=

Wasn't Washington black before he got hired? So his race didn't stop him from getting the part, but it did play a role in him losing it. That doesn't make any sense.

People didn't want to work with him because reportedly he was a jackass, who consistently showed up late and was confrontational on set.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest that people didn't want to work with him because he was black.

Pices is a racist...or worse yet, someone who really has no understanding of what racism really is.

I also saw thatc rap about Washington blaming Knight. What else is he going to add?

It's Knight's fault, it's the racist Black show creator's fault, it's white' people's fault...Let's throw in terrorists too while we're at it.

How is it obvious? I haven't heard one specific example where someone was racist towards Washington on set. Him making extreme assumptions and accusations that people were afraid of him because he is black does not count, either. If anyone was afraid of him it was because...oh, I dunno...he attacked Patrick Dempsey and yelled a homophobic slur about TR Knight? Maybe he confused "afraid of him" with "hate him because he's an ass so they steered clear of him."

HAHAHA never once have you EVER pointed out "FACTS"

All your racist posts are about heresay and lies propagated by people who only serve themselves and make the rest of the black community look bad...

If race was an issue I guess the Black producer isn't really black? and all the other minorities on the show must be white as well?

But you go ahead and stick by your "facts" and keep playing the race card everytime something happens to a person of colour... because it violence against fellow castmates and shouting hateful remarks about co-workers is definitaly legal in every workplace....

DUDE does the fact EVERYONE (posters of various ethnicities with various belief systems) in this post other than yourself think that the racism claims are absolutely ridiculous and you think that it's just so blatant that ignoring it is "pathetic" that your vision of reality is different than everyone else's.... and it's everyone else who is wrong???? Dude neither you not Washington have produced any examples or evidence racism was involved and you're gonna need a HELL of a lot of it to prove that SHONDA is a racist...

The man is obviously (from his statements) and ass with a sense of entitlement. Well whether he goes through PR rehab or not he's probably still an ASS on set and probably still rubbing people the wrong way. And I'm sure THAT is why his ass was canned.

Washington needs to get over himself and grow up. and I don't even watch the damn show!

I'm sure what happened had nothing to do with the writing.

... Normally, I would just sit back and watch people go back and forth on who is wrong and right, but I think its time for me to speak my mind on this one.

Both Isaiah and Pisces Ken are giving black men a bad name! You are doing nothing but publicly making it known that you are ignorant and bigoted and trust me, we are all FAR from like this... Have you ever stopped to think about how your behavior is affecting your community? And you better not say that it is helping them by getting your voice heard... You aren't right. Period! Neither you or Isaiah Washington! You need to learn how to not let race be a factor in everything because you wont get very far with that attitude (just look at this community for example...).

You bitch and moan about how every little thing is about race. Race this and Race that, but have you ever thought that these people could care less about the color of your skin? Seriously! Get over it! If you want to go and fight discrimination, go to a KKK meeting or something. Stop starting these threads that do nothing but upset people...

Signed, the fed up black man
