What is the significance of everyone being labelled a "Jub Addict" now, as opposed to the old format when that moniker was changeable once we reached 1,000 posts, I think?

Are those cartouches mandatory if we are all going to be the same?

I understand why Staff and Admin have different ones, but why would all members have one if they don't mean anything?

Interesting you should mention that. We were just having a discussion about the term "JUB Addict" and how it goes back to the old forum settings.

The answer is that members who have over 1,000 posts are designated automatically as "JUB Addicts". This status opens up new features and eliminates some of the ads on the site. It also adds a badge to your profile indicating that you have reached a premium member status that opens up the additional features.

Where your userprofile shows "Nudge-Nudge, Wink-Wink" is a custom title that is associated with what in the old forum was called "reputation" and it is also tied to your post count. The ability to set that custom title mentioned in the previous paragraph is one of those "JUB Addict" additional features. The user reputation tier is explained here:

Once you hit the "JUB Addict" tier, you can set a custom user title.

Other than adding a photo of myself as an avatar, is there a way to include those as part of my profile?

In the new Forum software, images/audio clips/video clips can be added under your profile as "media". You can organize your media into "Albums". Each album has security that you can set to be viewable by everyone, members or just you (private).

Click on Media on the top toolbar, then Your Albums.

When Your Albums opens, to the right there's an Add Media button. Click that and it will offer you the ability to add a new album.

You can set the privacy on your Album with the following dropdowns:

why can I not see any of my friends or people I use to send dms to or groups I use to belong to? is there a way to find people? I'm older & have trouble remembering names

why after 10 years on here is it asking me to introduce myself again did it kick me out? or loose the info? I know I use to be on here every day. now not as often but I'm so confussed!

It was mentioned earlier in this thread but the Groups feature is not available with the new forum software.

Your Friends are now Followers or members you are Following.

If you want to view activity from the members that you are following, use your News Feed here:

Your "DMs" are now Conversations and can be found here (it's the envelope icon on the top right toolbar):

That's a general message banner that everyone sees the first time they sign on. If you want to get rid of it, there's an "X" in the upper right hand corner of the message that will dismiss it.

The old forum software was vBulletin. The new forum software (xenForo) was actually written by a former employee of vBulletin. This makes the new forum very similar to the old forum. There's new terms to use (Conversations instead of Private Message) and things are in different places. But I would say that 80% of the basics - forums, threads, posts - are the same.

Behind the scenes, it is a big improvement. In the old forum, the mod team dreaded upgrades because the least little change to the vBulletin software ran the risk of crashing the database. Upgrades would sometimes take the forum down for 1-2 days. The old forum had gotten to be a nightmare and the vendor was not helpful in resolving problems.

My first couple of weeks with the new forum reminded me of when I had a cleaning person who would rearrange things while cleaning. It took me a little longer to find where things were but I was happy to have a tidy place, so it was worth it.

I have read this thread. I may have missed what I'm looking for. Which is "How can I get e-mail notifications in Light Mode?".

It's easier for me to read black text on white than to read white text on dark gray.

Problem: I am logged in. I head to the top of the page and I click Categories then Galleries then Any but I chose Younger. The page loads and I see pictures of older and younger models, but the top says Login/ Register. I click log in and it takes me to the forum page. I can't look at any of the image galleries.
How should I proceed? I should add it tries to log me in then it says 404 error.

Just so that I understand your question, are you wanting to toggle your forum view from dark mode to light mode?

We will hopefully get that working at some point. You can't login to the main site right now only the message board. Once you are logged into the message board the front page will still say login and register. My programmer will be getting to that soon and hopefully coming up with a solution. Sorry for the confusion.

@JUB might add additional comments but currently, the site is on two different servers - one is www.justusboys.com (which is where the galleries reside) and the other is forum.justboys.com (which is where the forum resides). [edit: he added comments at the same time I was replying :) ]

The two servers aren't passing the login information between them since we moved to XF.

You don't need to login to the www side of the site unless you want to add comments or add ratings to pictures. What I usually do is just open a new browser tab when I want to look at anything on the www side of the site. I leave another tab with the forum site so that I don't have to worry about the login information not being preserved.

I want to toggle e-mail notifications to light mode. I have forum in light mode and it's great.

And what's with all the dark mode stuff??? Gonna save 5 minutes on your phone;'s battery charge?

Hi,
I'm seeing ads for JUB Live across my screen. Last time you guys were able to remove them. thanks!

Why all of a sudden do I have marching pics going across my screen every five posts????
The ads are being changed out, so if you're signed on late at night (or very early in the morning), you may see ads temporarily while they're testing. Are you still seeing the marching pics- I don't see where there's anything permanent that should be there?

They're still marching across the screen after every fifth post.

I'm also seeing this at the top of every page:

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at secure.vs3.com.

I just checked with the owner and he said the ads should be hidden for JUB Supporters now. Let us know if you're still seeing them.
