There are features on the forum that prevent bots from accessing member's information or spamming members. As you post in the forum, the anti-spam features will open up new features to you once it determines that you're not a spammer.

It's also explained on the Help Pages - FAQ:

It's all part of the anti-spam features. Once the forum software sees that your posts aren't spam, it will begin adding new features.
