I have a friend who, since his coming out, will ONLY drink Starbucks coffee. Since today is the day they are closed for sensitivity training, I texted him to see how he'll survive the day and he is choosing to forgo any coffee for the whole day. Said he wouldn't be seen drinking anything else. Then it hit me. It's his image. Now that he's fully gay it has to be Starbucks and nothing else. Wow. It's just fucking coffee.

I really think its pathetic. Its getting to the point where i dont even like being around him any more. He used to be a nice normal guy but since coming out he has turned into such a queen. May be time to back away. 😞.
 
Maybe it has nothing to do with coming out and more about recognizing that Tim's coffee is shit.

This. I would think that if you are really being a true Diva, you would only frequent owner operated artisanal beaneries where the smell of the latest roast from the kiln hangs like the sweet scent of ethical harvest.
 
So, your friend has changed since coming out and you're considering dropping the friendship?
That's fine. They've changed in a way that takes away from the dynamic y'all had before.

But dropping the friendship isn't the only option. Do you have to interact with them regularly or is it only when you make an active effort? Because if it's the latter, maybe you should talk with them? It's not unlikely that they're still figuring themselves out and may be in need of a little recalibrating. Maybe they're becoming someone they don't want to be and don't realize it?

Or maybe they've dropped the mask and the mask was the part you liked and you can get some confirmation that the person you had fun with is gone?

Aggreed. Starbux gives me gut rot. It's overpriced mud. McDonalds has better coffee.

More than one mcdonalds employee has gone viral discouraging people from ordering coffee products as they aren't trained in how to clean the maker properly, and even if they were, for what they're paid, they aren't likely motivated to clean it efficiently. If starbucks is mud mcdonald's coffee is hippopotamus shit.
