It's not the guns.

^^unfortunately, there are many people who are complaining on social media about the profanity laced comments, instead of having a intelligent discussion about the texts ](*,)

A customer at a Charlotte, North Carolina, Taco Bell drive-thru was so ticked after receiving what he thought was the wrong amount of change that he went inside with a gun and opened fire, according to police.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it received calls around 9:30 p.m. Saturday about a shooting at the Taco Bell on the city’s east side. When officers arrived, they found an employee suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

A grandfather who was officiating a wedding in Nebraska is facing charges after accidentally shooting his 12-year-old grandson during the ceremony, officials said.

Michael Gardner, 62, was officiating the festivities at Hillcrest Events in Denton around 5 p.m. on Saturday when he attempted to shoot a Pietta Model 1860 Snub Nose revolver loaded with a blank into the air to gain the attention of the wedding guests, according to Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Ben Houchin.

Gardner “decided to gain everybody’s attention and start the wedding with a bang,” Houchin said during a news conference Monday.

A San Marcos instructional assistant no longer works for San Marcos CISD after a 4-year-old found a gun in the assistant's backpack...

"He was digging into a teacher's aide backpack and he discovered a firearm," said Vargas.

San Marcos police said the firearm was brought onto campus by an instructional assistant and kept unsecured inside the staff member's backpack.

In a letter to parents, San Marcos CISD wrote, "While looking through the backpack, the student discovered a firearm, removed it from the backpack and placed it on a table inside the classroom."

Where were the good guys with the guns in Lewiston?

I'll bet there's one town now with a slightly different perspective on AR15's

And lest we forget, this was the first bill that was signed by President Trump after his inauguration:

President Donald Trump responded to the El Paso and Dayton mass shootings by insisting Monday that “mental illness pulls the trigger not the gun,” but shortly after taking office he quietly rolled back an Obama-era regulation that would have made it harder for people with mental illness to buy guns.

Trump did so without any fanfare. In fact, the news that Trump had signed the bill was at the bottom of a White House email that alerted the media to other legislation signed by the president.

And it came after the House and Senate, both of which were Republican-controlled at the time, passed a bill, H.J. Res 40, which revoked the Obama-era regulation. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Sam Johnson, a Texas Republican who retired at the end of 2018.

In a press conference yesterday, it was disclosed that there were 4 off-duty police officers who were at a shooting range near the bowling alley. Their estimated response time was under 2 minutes. When they arrived at the bowling alley, the shooter was gone and most of the victims were already deceased.

But the gun addicts still say they need AR15s for their well-regulated militias.

The first 911 call came in to the Auburn communications center at 6:56 p.m. Wednesday about a male shooting at Just-In-Time Recreation, a bowling alley in Lewiston, Ross said...

6:58 p.m.
The first officers likely arrive, Sauschuck indicated. His statement wasn’t more assured because these were four Lewiston Police Department officers in plainclothes and responding without radios, which would have helped better establish their timing. They were at a gun range nearby when they heard gunfire and rushed to the scene, he said. By the time any officers arrived, however, the gunman was gone, Sauschuck said.

I have to shake my head when I read about the Mayor saying "This is not who we are".

Nope. This is exactly who Americans are.

In love with guns more than life.

By next week no one will even be talking about this any more.

America is a gun.

I own guns, four to be specific, but I'm certainly not an ammosexualist. There are so many guns, but this highlights the situation, there isn't a majority of Americans who own them. You have a minority with multiples of guns that make up the numbers, and some like me refuse to give them to sketchy people who want them, and have no way of disposing of them. I don't hunt anymore, I never liked it anyway, the guns are basically dead weight taking up valuable shoe space in the closet, uncleaned, unused, even the cops would not take them.

The problem is not that Americans are all packing, it's that money and political expediency have hamstrung the efforts of the vast majority of Americans who want sensible gun regulation. That and the sad fact that plenty of people with those guns are douche-baggy asswipes with delusions of Rambo.
