It's official, the new Wonder Woman is here

I've mostly kept up with what Wonder Woman has been doing... and I did really like (most of) Perez's run - but still against removing Steve Trevor as a romantic interest in her life. Love is what humanizes her, and makes her relatable.

The made for DVD cartoon was awesome - it kind of pisses me off other people do DC better then DC does DC.

I don't mind squabbles between Diana and her mother/the Amazons, but think they should eventually kiss and make up in the end - and stop killing off her support. The invisible jet is highly under used, IMO. What a great concept! I remember when in a pinch, she'd use it mentally controlled to run into a villain. Rarely see that anymore. She also desperately needs a decent rogues gallery of her own. Personally I think Poison Ivy would be great, as would Silver Banshee.

I also personally miss the Lasso - spin costume change. It made SENSE. Why wouldn't she use the lasso to show the TRUTH behind who she really is ??? I understand why the TV show made HER spin instead - lack of special effects at the time.

The talking gorilla's, and the current talking black cat are just stupid and juvenile, IMO. What is DC's fascination with talking monkey's??? I believe MEN are the main buyers of comics... what self respecting male is going to want to read about juvenile, 'girly' talking animals?

LOL Thanks HunterM - I've been a fan since the 70's. I get overly passionate and protective over Wonder Woman. :)

I completely agree with you. I also liked the Steve Trevor love connection. I collected comics growing up and Steve was her love interest. I even had a little crush on the young, hot, blond Steve Trevor. I still like blonds and I know it's because of him. She needs that connection. Even when I was young and reading the Perez run it took me a while to get over what he did to Steve. It was a clever take but one I was not expecting. It would be like ripping Lois Lane out of the Superman books. I see in the series Steve is young. Will he be a love interest for Etta or Diana? I hope Diana. I also liked what the cartoon did. It mixed the old Wonder Woman with the new. I just wish the comic book could pull it together. I haven't read the new run yet with the new suit. I am waiting for the trade. Anyone reading it? How is it? I have looked through the issues but without reading them I have no idea what is going on. I know the run is over in June and it looks like her classic suit will be back.

I'm reading the current run, and I HATE it. They've totally destroyed Wonder Woman as we know her, IMO. I'm relieved to hear it'll all be over soon. I hope very little of it bleeds over to the 'new' her when it's all over with.

Here is the June issue which is the final issue of his run. Her classic suit appears to be back.

This was my favorite picture I found on the web... basically showing her shedding off the new crappy outfit. I'm not sure if it was 'fan' made, or something else?

She looks more Donna Troy to me then Diana Prince.

Big Boobs have always kinda been a Wonder Woman thing... haven't they? Power Girl taking the lead, of course.

Aren't Donna and Diana pretty identical looking but Donna looks like a younger version of Diana? I was always confused by that. Big Boobs is every comic woman's thing, lol. Comic books love big knockers. I wish they showed more obvious bulges on men! You see these tight suits but then no bulge. Nothing. Fair is fair.

I don't think you can really compare the two shows. Smallville had a 10 year run and even Smallville wasn't Smallville starting around season 8 with the new direction it went. Did they cast Artemis yet? Here is Brett Tucker. He is playing Steve Trevor.

I think it kind of depends on the artist. I do believe that since they've added (and retracted??? - so confused) that bit about Donna being Diana's magic mirror playmate, she's been drawn to look more like Diana.

I agree on the bulges thing... Kyle Raynor's wasn't bad though. Damn sexist comic's !!!

The actor playing Steve Trevor looks pretty cute (in your lower post)... Hopefully his success on the TV show will bring him back in DC. I've noticed over the years that the comics will copy whatever sells good on TV/movies. As I said before, I think WW needs a love interest to make her more relatable, and she needs some kind of decent support cast.

I don't know the actress and can't place her face on anything...I was a HUGE fan of WW-re-runs back in the day...I hope they will bring back the classic-Music when she goes into "action"...I'll even accept an updated version of the music, just give us something to remember..

I will set my DVR to record the series once it airs...The show will get a BIG boost from Daytime talk show Wonder Woman FANATIC "Wendy Williams" as well...

I have an embarassing Wonder Woman secret, and I can't believe I am admitting it here...

I made a shirt like this out of a red t-shirt, and some of that computer printer iron on transfer paper, but I live in a pretty red-neck area and am too embarassed to wear it out in public.

having read the leaked script synopsis earlier and with the revelation of the plastic looking costume..

my expectations are pretty low.

Nice. It's a shame he's Australian, he would have been an amazing Captain America.

Do you HONESLTY believe that the "Average Joe" is gonna know the Difference between a symbol that stands for "Wonder Woman" VS the symbol that represents the "WWE federation"?

Dude you give Men waaay too much Credit....We're not that smart to figure it out.........Wear your shirt with Pride.....

New villain!:
Joseph-Gatt.JPG

Screenrant are reporting that Gatt, who we will see soon enough playing a Frost Giant in Marvel's Thor, will also feature in the Wonder Woman pilot as John O'Quinn, who will work for Liz Hurley's Veronica Cale as a physical presence against Wonder Woman

It's assumed that should the series be picked up that Gatt will join as a recurring character.

LOL I laughed so hard at this... Thanks!!!! Maybe I'll be daring and wear it... providing I don't have to do the 'spin' to get into it. :)

Sadly, that's just a variant cover for issue #609, and not the actual cover to #612. Not sure why DC used it in the solicitation for 612. Unless it's some sort of bait & switch tactic.

I like the new TV series costume, for the most part. Though I would, personally, tweak a few things. Slightly darker blue would be nice, as would red boots & a completely re-worked belt. That belt is the only thing that I completely dislike about it. Everything else is pretty cool, even if it's not how I picture Wonder Woman.

However, I'm bummed that the pants will be staying in the comics even after the end of 'Odyssey.' I wanted a return to the classic costume, after Diana's looked like Joan Jett for the past year.

One last thing... it's extremely cool to see other huge Wonder Woman fans here. I've loved Wonder Woman since I was around 4 years old and saw the TV series for the first time.

i can appreciate camp, but that costume looks terrible... i would have never guessed that its an official press photo, and not just some girl dressing up for halloween. a girl with terrible make-up skills and an impending yeast infection.

sorry, im just cranky because chris march didnt get to play the new wonder woman.

How do you know what she will be wearing, and that the pants will be staying???
