Cadillac just introduced it's all-electric Escalade, the 2025 Escalade IQ.
The vehicle is Huge! It's so big parking could be a problem. It's so big it may not fit in a standard garage.

Don't be fooled by this video, the Escalade IQ driver may need the onboard lane keeping assist to help other freeway traffic feel safe in their lanes.
Production starts in about a year with pricing around £102,000 or $130,000.

They might as well design a vehicle that doesn't move. It doesn't even need to have wheels. It just sits there and pumps carbon dioxide into the air.

Looking out my window I see just about every other vehicle parked on the street is a SUV. Last I checked there weren't many dirt roads or mountain ranges in New York City.

They should call it the Escalade Single Digit IQ.
This is so missing the point. To make an electric car efficient the weight must be kept right down. Otherwise you need more batteries to keep up the range, which adds more weight so you need more batteries which add more weight and so on and so on. All this bulk serves no purpose. It's size for the sake of size.
As for the ugliness, that is normal on a new car. Buyers must be demanding uglier cars, what other explaination is there for hideousness of all the popular models.

I was hoping to see her climb in and out of it. I doubt it is very convenient in that regard.

Did she say it weighs 4.5 tons?

I think it's a handsome enough vehicle, but I don't see any practical use for it. Especially since it's not really big enough to use as a farm tractor.

It's funny, electric companies are always encouraging customers to replace their old lightbulbs with LEDs.:)

If I was going to spend that much on an electric vehicle it would be the Mercedes EQS

I'd imagine most people will only lease them.

And the sooner they realize that nobody gives a shit about who is driving it, the better off they'll be.:)

/\ Or, when they get tired of people trying to buy drugs from them.:)

Sadly, it is a testament to our decadence as a society.

The owners won't be rich old women from Wendy's commercials who can climb in or see over the steering wheel.

It will be the young W.A.S.P. bleached blonde, stay-at-home mom whose husband needs her to project the image of a successful young couple with all the toys and the McMansion.

And then there will be the pretenders, the over-compensating minority families who substitute car price for social prestige.

And the gangbangers keeping up appearances, but not with candlelight dinners and hand-painted china.

The growing income divide in our nation condemns us, to our Creator and to our world and to our progeny.

We will inherit the wind.

Electric cars are shit mining all that lithium for the batteries is worse for the environment not to mention if they catch fire you need to let it burn itself out, plus inhaling butning lithium us incredibly toxic because it causes micro cuts in the lungs and you basically drown in your own blood after inhaling it! Nope no thanks!

Thank you.

I couldn't think of any practical use for this vehicle, but there you go; car bombing.:)

Oh no. Much as I hate this car I don't want you to blow it up. All those millions of lithium particles flying through the air, that is most antisocial. If you must be a terrorist be a responsible terrorist and destroy a clunker that is on its way to the scrapyard anyway.
