Not so hot... I had to puzzle over some of your letters, especially the verticals. I wonder if I would have understood it if I didn't know the song.

Yes, I see your point. Re-reading it objectively, I can see that it is a little hard to understand. I can write more legibly than that, but it's more time consuming. Most of the time when I write anything down it's purely for my own benefit and sometimes when I write myself notes, it's even more illegible than the example above, so when I try to read them back to myself, I usually have to give up! !oops!

I didn't even think of that when I was writing my "Jabberwocky" exerpt... it's one of the only poems I know very well (Blake's "The Tyger" is the other one), and I just watched Alice last night (the 1990 miniseries, starring the adorkably babelicious Andrew-Lee Potts, which I heartily recommend), so it was the first thing that came to mind.

Yes, I probably would be able to understand your example better if I was familiar with the poem :D

But I wanted to point out that half of my writing in the meeting notes was done without looking at the paper... I hate interviewing with people who don't look at me, so I was maintaining eye contact and scribbling at the same time (I gots the mad skillz ;)).

That's pretty good then. If I tried to do that, I'm sure it would end up as unintelligible scribble scrawled all over the paper!

Here’s mine. Today is a good day or it would be much worse. Either way I have always been embarrassed by my writing.

Here's a couple examples of my various chicken scratch...

Not so sound rude, but it kind of surprises me how many of us almost have a 'girly' handwriting (myself included!!!) . :D

I kinda messed up. Below is the translation for my handwriting in case it's illegible. And below that is what I wrote. I wrote:

I am jealous of all of you; you all have neat handwriting.

This is my "I have to rush" handwriting.

. . . and this is my left hand.

Above is the "translation" in case you can't read this. (*8*)

Who are you calling girly? :grrr:

Seriously though, what does that mean? Is there really such a thing?

Oh you guys... don't get all defensive.

Usually, it seems like girls write in more fluid, curvy, loopy, BIG letters, and (straight) guys are smaller, more angular letters.

I've never really paid that much attention, or seen many gay guys handwriting before... I found our similarities fascinating/interesting.

I certainly didn't mean to stir up any shit pots.

There is no such thing as girly and manly handwriting. However, there are feminine and masculine handwriting. They have nothing to do with genders, just symbolising feminine or masculine trait of a personality.

Feminine handwriting (garland types) are more droopier and more concave. Yours, Redfox's, Moe's, and Reone's fall into this type.

Masculine handwriting (arcade type) are more convex and arch-looking.
Max's and Quasar's handwriting fall into this type (both on another thread =P)

The combination of both is loopy handwriting---you can see the convex and concave characteristic equally dominant.
Mine's and Swell's fall into this category.

Once again, they're just characteristics of writing, nothing more.

Hmm ... I am sure there was a thread like this some time ago because I vaguly remember submitting my chicken scratch ... but still good to see it resurrected ...

I'm not posting my good handwriting because it is could be recognized. I mean the way I'd write a personal letter. (Yes, my privacy/security settings are on MAX.)

Instead, this is a sample of very quick notes I made for myself while working on a computer project - just legible enough to remind me of what I was doing. Foxy knows what it is.

Kind of reminds me of my own note-making scrawl and, just as it would be with mine, I can only read the names because I know what they are. Good to see some of your scribble though, EJ ..|

I'm pretty sure our responses were ironic. At least I know mine was

We should've guessed that the purpose of this thread was so that you could use your part-time graphologist skills to analyse us!

I like that you've put yourself in the "loopy" category! :p

Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about that! I'm not even an expert in graphology; I just analysed the writing to pinpoint it out. Even while doing it, I still rechecked the book to ensure I wasn't wrong #-o

 And you honestly don't think that's what he was referring to? Sounds like an issue of semantics to me. We all know what he meant.

I know what he means exactly (his reply to the previous issues says it all). I'm just writing to tell him the correct term to use (fem vx masc and not girly vs manly, and in the sense of psychology and not personal traits). And also because girls don't always write loopy round characters and guys don't always write angular words. That's all.
