^No, it is simply writing numbers and short codes on the 49 square millimeters of space which is the lid of an Eppendorf vial, scientific shorthand if you like. Not Pitman, although I did try to teach myself Pitman when I was 14.

I could read the writing...and after I read the writing, I could recognize the song. Judy Garland did a bravura version of it in 1943.

My favourite version of the song is the one by Gerry and the Pacemakers

Lin an cao jing feng
Jiang jun ye yin gong
Ping ming shun bai yu
mo zai shi ling zhong

The forest is dark and the wind stirs the grass
So late this night he draws his bow...
Now light the feathered shaft they seek.
Found stucked embedded within a stone.

Its supposed to allude to Han Dynasty General Li Guang and his strength. Or so my TangShi SanBai Shou tells me.

I have no idea what it is thou. I never even read Tang Shi San Bai Shou and I really struggle writing chinese characters now since I graduated from high school.
