Anyone else here a fan of Janet Jackson and her music or find it amusing how "bad" she tries to be?

If I were not a gay and I were a hetero guy or a bisexual guy I'd TOTALLY do strong black women like Janet!

I think it's funny that people flipped out when she got "naked" on TV at the super bowl when it's not that big of a deal at all and it just showed how lots of Americans and politicians are complete prudes.

I remember watching Conan O'Brien after that happened and Snoop Dogg was on there and he said how it was HORRIBLE that she did that and how he didn't want his kids seeing that. LOL What a hypocrite, what happens when his kids grow up and see his music videos talking about pimping, doing hos, scantily clad women, or see the girls gone wild videos that are sold with him or the other porn stuff he does?

From the superbowl to doing skits in her albums about phone sex and masturbating, to song about giving oral sex what will she do next! Porn?

Like many of Jackson's albums, the album The Velvet rope is filled with non-musical interludes.

One interlude in particular earned a great deal of note from conservative groups. In the brief track "Speaker Phone," Jackson (presumably simulates) a phone sex chat. Towards the end of the track she moans, prompting her partner to comment "Yo' coochie's gon' swell up and fall apart!" This was picked apart by media, particularly comedienne Sandra Bernhard who quipped in her one woman show, "I thought I said some crazy shit, but Miss Jackson…you so nasty!"

Interlude: Speaker Phone

This interlude features one of Janet's dancers or "The Kids" as she calls them. Shawnette Heard and Janet Jackson are having a normal conversation when Janet Jackson begins to moan. Shawnette then says, "Yo coochie is gon' swell up and fall apart." "Speakerphone" is known for it's controversy and was able to show that Janet Jackson was no longer a good girl with it's masturbation refrences.

*pictures it flopping around on the floor*

The song Go Deep is more known for it's video which includes a wild house party and a seductive Janet. "Go Deep" is known for being a double enterndre'. It possibly refrences oral sex.

She's put out some really cool stuff over the years. "Again" makes my spine go all soft. But she's also put out some really lame items as well. Making an album "exploring your sexuality" is fine. Making three or four is a bit much. It sounds a lot more like she's out of ideas.

There's a network TV rule. No nudity. Whether it's right or wrong, moral or prudish doesn't matter. It's the rule. And they broke that rule. So they paid the cost. And whatever it was, it most certainly wasn't a stand against prudish morality. It was a stunt. And one they immediately disavowed with the now-infamous "wardrobe malfunction" comment.

It must suck to live in the US then, if that´s the TV rules. Here in Spain we get to see male strippers bare it all, and with raging hard ons, on afternoon shows and late night shows, and its not a big deal.

Depends on the network. The four basic networks have that rule. The cable channels have their own codes.

Cable channels have their own codes ok ... BUT .. name one channel in America where you will see a male stripper with a raging hard-on ? You won't .... the cable/satellite codes are still too strict .
The ONLY exception as I know would be the Subscription Channels after a certain time .. like 9 or 10 P.M.

i LOVE janet. and yes i love Damita Jo and 20 YO. however its not Janet. the Janet i know would of come hard after the SB with a FUCK YOU album. but she played it safe. ALOT of celebrities turned away from her. i guess they felt if they say they liked her they will go down with her. i mean half of the young female singers out there used to Credit Janet and now they dont even mention her anymore. its like taboo for them or something. when she has her comeback (and she will) all those that turned her away are gonna be trying to come back to her......


on a positive note shes doing a mini concert for some hotel opening.

her last good cd was the velvet rope, after that is what myself and a few dj 's call her "treadmill era". she sounds like shes running on a treadmill in the studio,WAY to breathy. which would explain how hot she lookedand those killer abs in those videos.

I can't believe how that tit bearing performance with Justin ruined her! She lost all her fame,her album tanked,she had to bare her new "sculpted" body on every mgazine! I think I saw a "where is Janet's bush?" in Highlights magazine while at the doctors! so sad! I use to love her!

The problem with Janet, IMO, is that she's simply burned out. She's played the whole 'sexpot' thing to death and her music doesn't stand out anymore. Her whole presentation is dated and not interesting anymore. She needs to put her clothes back on, stop playing that "look at me, I'm sexy" card, quit having an army of dancers behind her, and change up her sound. And for the love of God, let her realize that working with Jermaine Dupri was a mistake. He doesn't "mesh" with her the way he does, say Mariah and Usher.

i agree, however i like her backup dancers. the thing im pissed about is that Jermaine cut alot of awesome songs out of latest album. i dont know why he did that. the ones he cut could of been singles and could of put her back on the map. but she went along with it.

You can certainly hear his influence on her last album and seemed to want her to do a strictly R&B album. That irritated me because Janet usually mixes it up with her albums and if I hear him say "yall who this is" on another song.

I understand she's in love but keep him away from your next album.
