"str8" guys playing up for their gay audience? didn't see the vid you guys are talking about, but from what i've heard i'd be willing to bet that the "homophobic" incident was taken out of context. if they were truly homophobic, i don't really see them enjoying their work as much as they do(well from the one vid i've seen) no matter how much they were getting paid for it.

I didn't watch the particular show mentioned above live. I did watch the archive. Had I been in the chat when this occurred, I would probably have suggested that the guys "chill". They made too much of it. That said; I know their reaction had much more to do with the fratman known as Gavin than the action portrayed in the video itself.

Neither Max nor Taylor is a homophobe. They can be silly, funny, and yes, even immature at times. But I have spoken to them both at length and the one thing they are not is homophobic. They are good guys.

The fratmen themselves represent varying gradations of sexual preference. The members who join the fratpad to see guys who are exclusively straight are disappointed, and often don't last long. Those of us who do, do so because it is a fun, sexy, entertaining way to spend some time and make some friends.

And, when kept in the perspective of everything else going on in the world, we can all use an escape now and then. ;)

I was a member back when Gavin was at the pad. He had to be one of the least liked Fratmen ever, by both the members and the other Fratmen. Members would always discover him in the middle of a lie. I didn't think meant to do it as often as he did, I think he probably didn't know what to do in front of a cam. In any case, he was chided at the time for various things, saying he was bi, but being scared of someone else touching him. He also did various things which upset the other Fratmen, including stranding them, stealing their possessions, etc.

My overall impression is that Gavin is just dislike period, he lasted for only a few days. If Max and Taylor were laughing at the Sean Cody thing, it's probably because they were laughing AT Gavin and not at gay sex (they've seen gay sex before and have never laughed at it). Given that no members liked Gavin, it's the most straightforward explanation.

As for Max, I was never very into him, but he is probably one of the most liked fratmen ever. And he does seem very genuine to me, what's being described doesn't fit him at all.

Does not liking gay sex make one a homophobe? Would that not characterize ALL heterosexual men as homophobic?

I think such descriptions are far too simplistic and speak more to the poster’s flawed assumptions than they do to actual reality. For instance, I do not like vagina, and I hate seeing straight sex. I find it gross, but does that mean I have a hatred of women or heterosexuals? No. On its face the only conclusion that can logically be drawn, is that I do not want to have sex involving a vagina. That is ALL that can be logically concluded. How someone can take just the smallest thing and go from point A to point B is mind-boggling.

Concluding that someone is a homophobe from an extremely vague statement such as, “Person X might not like seeing gay sex” shows an utter lack of logic: in fact what it shows is knee-jerk emotionalism and bias.

Now let's apply a logically equivalent situation. Imagine that you found out a former classmate you hated from was fucked in a porno. Regardless of whether he/she did straight/gay porn, would you not expect ridicule to arise? Now let's say it was a girl you hated that was fucked, and you chuckled when you found out? Could I logically conclude from such a reaction that you chuckled because she engaged in straight porn, and thus you hate straight porn and women? No.

Resorting to knee jerk emotional reactions doesn't really explain much. It's easy to be offended, but it's harder to actually think.
 
Thankfully I'm glad that the notion of "straight" guys playing with each other in a totally non gay kinda of way doesn't appeal to me in the least.

I'm not sure why people would be dissing him for being a hypocrite, he stated multiple times while at the pad that he was bi. And yes gay people can be homophobes, just look at the chat in fratpad... but that's another topic in itself...

The context of the reaction was that gay sex is degrading and is something that can be freely ridiculed.
