Jean Grey- The Phoenix

I'm really glad Joss is doing the series. I've found it to be brilliant and better (gasp!) than some of Chris Claremont's material (please note that CC is my favorite X-Men writer). Marvel made the right decision to bring Joss in.

Man, no offense, but right now, anyone can write better than Chris Claremont.

Maybe I should have clarified that he was good back in the day: Phoenix Saga, New Mutants, 90's X-Men... Actually, when he did Excalibur (the Genosha version), it was pretty good. Actually, the only reason I'm still reading anything besides Astonishing is because my favorite characters are in the other things.

and chris knows how to handle psylocke aswell :D :D

But nothing will make me read "She lies with angels" again, possibly one of the crappiest x-men story ever......

Actually, I kind of liked some of that. Though, my all-time favorite stories came from the time before I was even born: I loved the Dark Phoenix Saga, and I loved Inferno even more. Actually, Inferno came out after I was born (1985 or so?), but I didn't get into comic books until I was 13. I only read Inferno when I was 20.

Ah, I see. Thank God all my favorite mutants are in New, Astonishing, and X-Factor then. Which reminds me, who here's gonna' pick up Brubaker's run on Uncanny?

Art looks good and Eds pretty much the current comic book god thanks to his spectacular work on Daredevil. I hope he can pull it off with Uncanny too since Deadly Genesis was pretty underwhelming (not his fault mind you)

Young Avengers is absolute hotness...and I agree with the fan letters. Let's give Billy and Teddy a fucking kiss already! Let's see some socratic love! ::gushy fan::

But they haven't even held hands! Give me something!! ::burns::

the ultimate proof that I have too much time in my hands

The memorial panel where their foreheads were against each other looked really sweet. I prefer that to the kissing.

hmmm ok , so i havnt read comic books in nearly 10 years i guess, and am only now realizing how out of the loop i am.

i love themn though, and i want to try to get back into them. I mean, i was all over them for a good 5 years.

last time i read them was after the whole Onslaught thing- didntr like all the superheroes die?

also, i used to follow gen X pretty consisitently. the last issue i read was when i think Chamber died? but I still hadnt gotten into the mystery of thet diamond chick, and M's past.

Where can i go to catch up? i feel so old and not with it...

Bluelantern: Hulking and Wiccan are members of the Young Avengers. If you want to know about them, check out !PLUG! the link on Luminum's signature !PLUG!.

GQS: Uh, man what can I say? Okay, if you want to catch up on anything X-Men related, go to Uncannyxmen.net (they have current title information there, including plots and characters involved). As for everything else, try Marveldirectory.com.

I fought that they are a gay couple, that was why them don't kissed.

Well since they are a str8 couple I guess there is no problem for me (!)

No one said anything about Anansi T-T

Are you serious?

about what?

about the str8 couple? well, nothing against it, but I will not going lose any sleep if a girl and a guy from a comic don't kiss. if was a gay couple would be a homofobic issue...

about the Ananzi? other day a thought in a "what if" storie, in that case instead of Jean, a entire group was the avatar of the Phoenix, and would be called "Phoenix factor"

No, it's true that the forehead thing is cute, but I want more of that, less dancing around it and havingthem leabing on eavch other or walking side bys ide or screaming out each other's names in terror when one of them gets blasted.

More stuff like the forehead thing and less zoom, more full-view.

I'm such a damn fanboy...

Bluelantern: They ARE a gay couple. Wiccan (Billy) and Hulkling (Ted) are dudes. Huh, Bill and Ted. P.S. Nice Spider-thing. But how can he swing with a huge corona stuck on his back?

Luminum: Well they have spent a good amount of panel time screaming each other's names in terror, most significantly during the first arc. I think that Allan just doesn't want to shove the fact that they are gay to our faces, which is kind of cool.

I fought that Wiccan was the kid version of the scarlet witch (and so a female).

the "Corona" is energy spider-legs, is kinda like the fire bird aura of Jean. Anansi also has energy webs, stronger than normal ones and he can materialize it in anywhere in his sight (he don't need to shoot), his spider-sense become stronger, and he can nearly see the future, and he can "project" this spider-sense in others, increasing they senses or creating ilusions.

afther the alternative "Dark Phoenix saga" where Rogue become the Dark Phoenix and absorbs the power of all other x-men, Anansi is the only one who was able to defeat her.

Now, afther all this unnasked information I will ask:

Who is the biggest nerd/geek/fanboy ever? (!)

I agree with luminum, and I can't see what is cool in "doesn't want to shove the fact" in our faces, why it would be? it is just another sign of the homophobia of todays society.

Wiccan is sort of a cross beween Wanda and Thor. He's very definitely a guy though: his real name is Billy Caplan, and he may in fact be one of Wanda's long-lost twin sons.

(As far as I'm concerned, though, Apollo and the Midnighter are the official First Gay Couple of superhero comics)
