I'm surprised you don't know Marc Silvestri. He was/is an artist from Top Cow. Check out his The Darkness series, since I'm fairly certain that the guys there show as much skin as the chicks do. And from what I know, The Fathom also has it's share of eye candy.

Side note, it's going to be pretty hard for Joss to give some rationale for Cassandra's actions, since it was established that her entire reason for being was to hurt Charles (to her, she and him were the only 'real' creatures in the universe), so it is very doubtful that she'd spend time playing with the crew of Astonishing, AND playing second fiddle to Perfection should she not have a shiny new motive. I'm fairly certain that this isn't the old Cassie we "grew up" with.
 
That's true. I hadn't considered that. But my feeling is that after she was 'reeducated' and spend so much time as Ernst, that alone may establish her as someone else. Though that calls into question her desire ofr planting Emma as a mole for so long and reclaiming that contract.

Yes, the missing piece is who it was exactly that re-educated Nova. She wisely had Emma as her failsafe, so it could be assumed that she expected the White Queen to 'nurse' her back to herself should she have been defeated. Now, if this is true, then it could also be assumed that Emma taught little miss Nova how to be a shadowy heroine.

Emma seems to still be one of the good guys after all.

Unless of course, the entire thing where she leads Kitty into the headmaster's chamber so that the Shadowcat could see for herself that something wasn't right, is just a red herring, and that Emma did in fact underestimate Kitty's analytical capacity.

Edit: After watching X3, I made it a point to ask why super-powered, immortal goddesses would ever choose to play second fiddle.
 
I thought the latter originally, but now I believe that it was calculated. Emma's heart doesn't seem to be all that into the resurrection of Hellfire via the destruction of the X-Men.

Besides, what is Sebastian Shaw's deal after the whole In Search of Hellfire Uncanny bit where Emma faces off with rachel famously? I thought they had settled all of that.

I don't really read, well, anything by Claremont, so could you tell me what happened in Uncanny? All I know is Emma bitchslapped Rachel into the next millenium.
 
Basically, Emma came to help the Uncanny team find out what Sage was up to (Sage rejoined Hellfire).

The go into a transporter and the others are teleported into a sewer ladened with nanobots. Emma runs in to stop sage at the designated location, but finds that sage has already made arrangements to assist Emma into infiltrating the Hellfire event. rachel attacks her thinking she was the reason why the others teleported somewhere else.

Emma dukes it out with her telepathically (Emma turns Rachel into a baby, Rahcel turns her into a withered corpse, Emma chains rachel up, rachel turns them into battle armor, Emma defeats Rachel and destroys her aromor) and the two are pretty evenly matched, but then Rachel projects Emma being fat and the X-Men laughing at her, but Emma trumps her when Astral Scott still 'loves' her. In effect, Emma is still able to overturn the psychic attack by demonstrating that her body isn't her only facet and that Scott loves her no matter her terrible past.

So Emma tells her that Rachel's power isn't enough, being a great telepath depends mostly on skill and an abundance of will and that no matter what happens in the future, Rachel is not her equal and that since she is the co-head mistress and a teacher she demands respect and in return she'll give rachel the best she has to offer as an instructor. Emma extends her hand to help rachel up and Rachel takes her hand.

The two head in and Emma feigns being the White Queen and Rachel is her Warrior White princess. Emma comes up against Courtney Ross (Saturnyne) who is the new White Queen and Viper, who's her WWP. Rachel searches out to find and locate the mutants who are being sold as slaves at the auction and fights Selene.

In th end, it turns out Hellfire is trying to assist mutants and shut down the mutant slave trade. Rachel defeats Selene and the day is saved. rqachel asks why Emma didn't help her defeat Selen, but Emma asks her if she really needed her help.

So I guess there was supposed to mutual respect and a new teacher/student realtionship between them, but it never got picked up.
 
Cool. Lesbian lovers, here we come. Maybe the whole Emma/Rachel respect thing pretty much just goes without saying.

Side note, Selene as in the Black Queen, Selene? Isn't she like, all-powerful?
 
Apparently she was defeated and sealed away into the catacombs of the Hellfire Club. She attacked Rachel hoping to be 'reborn' through her and become all-powerful once again. If there was any lesbianism going on, it was definitely through Selene/Rachel. All this kissing and embrac eyour darkness stuff.
 
Well, Claremont tried teasing the world that Kitty and Rachel had a thing right? Well, he's a horny old bastard, so who cares. I hear he hits on guys' wives during comic-cons.
 
I do know about how Karma (Xian) had a thing for Kitty that didn't work out...
 
I'm not sure, but in X:Men - The End, didn't Rahne have a thing with Xian? Like before the mansion explodes, Rahne asks one of the girls to tell Xian she loved her or soemthing? Ah, whatever.

Are you pulling the new adjectiveless X-Men by Carey by the way? I heard they made Rogue team leader.
 
I ahven't read it, but apparently everyone's excited because the new writer is apparntly amazing and 'rogue is back'...I guess that could mean she's team leader now.

Yes, I think they did imply that Rahne and Xian had a thing ;)
 
I'm waiting for it in trade. I really don't see the long-time Southern girl turn into a moody, mysterious femme fatale. But she did do a cool thing when she absorbed Scott and Emma's powers though.

And by the way, Marvel's October solicitations are out, and the write-up for Phoenix: Warsong mentions something about the Stepfords acting strangely or something like that. It's cool.
 
Isn't that awesome? Though seeing her absorb Scott and Emma's powers made me wonder if Rogue absorbed someone a long time ago, would she also be able to exhibit their secondary mutations?
 
Hopefully not, the last thing the X-Men needs is another character who'se potentially more powerful than all the last sons of Krypton and their pesky dogs too. Bachalo's art is pretty weird though, I mean I think I like it, but at the same time they end up looking like adults who have baby heads.

New X-Men is coming out tomorrow, and right now it's probably the most unpredictable X-title out there. If Hellion were real, I'd probably have a huge crush on him right now :)
 
Haha. Well, I'd like to see how Elixer winds up.

I also have an issue with Bachalo's art. I like it in some ways, but seriously silike it in others. Still, he draws a hot Cannonball. His costume and his package keep makingme say wow.

Hopefully, now that they've gotten together in some real fighting experience we'll see the team start to cohere. As for Nimrod...
 
Do you have Wolverine: Origins and Endings? It's abosulte bullshit mind you, but it's on issue four, and the next ish promises a fight between Logan, Cap, and Emma.

And speaking of the White Queen, she was way cool in Civil War#3. There's also a big development in Civil War: X-Men involving her, which is pretty interesting too. And damn, the boys' new uniforms were hot ;)
 
Hehe, sorry man, but me and my bro are neat freaks, so we can't risk doing anything to harm our pretty comics.

But hey, it's a cool read anyway, so maybe you can just buy it. It's rumored that Bishop's gonna die in there ;)
