Just SO many things to see and do, that I haven't anywhere even done! I'm just sorry it couldn't be a longer meet as I have an aunt and uncle's 50th anniversary party on Sunday. I really wasn't expecting much traction on getting any kind of real get together as nothing of note seems to have been tried since the Portland meet in 2011, and none of these New York area things surprisingly has ever taken off. It's been proposed by others way before myself and nothing has ever come of it, but frankfrank and I thought "what the hell" and decided to try here once more. Very appreciative of palbert's efforts to get this to an even wider JUB public. I know it's kinda last minute, and the economy still isn't really humming for a lot of people so budget wise it might be tough for some. However hopeful some more out of towners and more than a few locals join us!

Have a single bed but if someone having $$ problems may be I can modify the reservation to help out. PM.
 
I think I will comment to Sausy that we should sightsee à la japonaise, with him in front holding a pennant and all of us holding hands as we follow his lead!
 
I have not been to the 9/11 memorial, Central Park, nor Ellis Island, nor many other sites and it has been several years since I have seen the sites which I have seen prior. Still, I look forward to us meeting and hanging out together and exploring the city as a native New Yorker might even more than how much we can see. I am looking forward to this meeting. I am staying in the Westin Jersey City Newport Hotel at 479 Washington Blvd. See you there.
 
I just sent PM's to Dynk and TheWiz. (Latter, I only hope I did, because his name appeared entirely in lower case letters. Is that correct?) I'm guessing it's very likely they don't even know about this, and it's pretty short notice of course. I meant to do this as soon as I originally found out that Criostoir didn't know about the meet which also proved my observation that JUB meets are REALLY "hidden" on this website.

I hope that other people in the area see this thread, and possibly decide to make their way to our meet.
 
Long term forecast has a warm early fall weekend for the meet with clear, perfect sunny skies Thursday through Saturday, mid to upper 70's with lows 60-65...variable clouds Sunday but still around 74. Not too late to come for a great weather weekend in the Big Apple!:D

If I lived close I'd join, still if I had the money and time to travel, I'd join.

What about Carnegie Deli (since 1937!)?
 
All those definitively interested in attending part/all of the festivities, can you send off a PM to me or Palbert indicating your availability for the meet next weekend? Just want to make sue who's coming... hoping to see more locals make appearances as well!
