I don't know anything about bone simulators. Is that maybe something that is available at a physical therapy department/clinic to use onsite or as a loaner/rent?

ShadowCat: Some thoughts.

  • You might want to start taking a Vitamin D supplement daily. It seems to help with bone healing. You can take up to 5,000 IUs per day. In my own case (for a different condition) it also seems to help with pain.
  • Try not to take any anti-inflammatory drugs like Advil or Aleve. Inflammation is part of the body's way of healing itself, so you may not want to suppress it. Tylenol or Tylenol with Codeine is OK.
  • Does your insurance allow you to see an Orthopedic Surgeon that specializes in foot and ankle problems? You're smart for avoiding surgery if possible but if you do have to have it, an Orthopedic Surgeon is probably better trained to perform it. I'm not bashing podiatrists but I tend to think of them in the same way as chiropractors (i.e., there are some very good ones and there are some not so good ones). Personally I wouldn't let a DPM operate on my feet.

Thank you for the information in answer to your question Yes I actually am taking a 5000iu vit D supplement my pcp put me on because my level was low in 2020. Podiatrist put me on calcium but I was developing pseudo gout as a result of taking it so he pulled me off it. Unfortunately I also have a tendon issue on the left foot and he gave me the pill form of voltaren gel. I am not taking it all the time, just when I have a flare, currently am flaring. My podiatrist is also a board certified podiatric and ankle surgeon he was actually chief of podiatric medicine at a local hospital. If the $4000.00 bone stimulator wasn't in my budget an ortho surgeon would definitely not be in budget lol. He actually told me that some how the company that sells you the bone stimulator can actually shut them down like via a satellite signal and after you've used it you or anyone else can't use it again! Like WTF?!

There is still a divet/chip close to the edge of my foot but its filling in its just filling in fron the inside of my foot towards the outside! So this is fabulous news and am beyond thrilled!

By the time I go again it will be mine! For about 10 days! Of course after i no longer need it Ill have to put it away somewhere and that isnt going to be an easy task!

Well went to the podiatrist today and got great news I may be able to be off the scooter April 27th! there is more bridging and still a little chip but he is astounded that I have healed so well! On another note I have been describing some issues after eating fish and some shell fish and he says I have a tiny bit of gout! I am to drink even more water! He doesn't want to put me on anything for it so thats at least good!

UPDATE! Ok xrays taken and still coming along and very nicely at that! I can finally stop using the damn scooter! I am to use the walking boot for another week and then start walking in my regular gym shoes and may 10 more xrays to see how im doing like that! Awesome news! I am so ready to be done with this thing so I can start getting things back to normal and start an exercise regimen

Still good news for you! If you answered my previous question, I can't find it. Did you have the buy a bone simulator?

So sorry I thought I did. No THANK GOD! It would have been a one and done thing and it would have been at least $3,500.00-10,000.00!!! And the bitch of it is there is no possible way to re sell it and no way to donate it, as the assholes that manufacture the fucking things have a satellite switch in them and after your term is up they remotely shut off the device! So if you ever broke a bone again you'd be buying another one!

Ok this is it girls! I'm healed up!!!!:gogirl::=D::hurray:\:/--%--(!):wow: I'm to still wear my gym shoes in the house and won't be in sandals this summer, But I evaded surgery and healed with clean margins no complications! I still have a chip and he is unsure if it will ever fill back in, but I am off the scooter out of the walking boot and THRILLED!!!! I can also start lightly exercising nothing too strenuous he said walking is good (course my area is getting dicey) but also elliptical (dont have one) but he said stationary biking would be good as well as using my total gym I just bought, I can't do squats or lunges right now or anything that is going to put undue stress like jumping jacks or plyometrics (whatever those are) but I can start on that now! Of course I need to trim some fat first gained 6 pounds #-o but I'm going to be starting on that journey soon!

By "term" are you referring to the length of time you are suppose to use the device for recovery? I thought that was NOT legal to do in the U.S. anymore. Maybe there is a medical exception.

Yeah by term i am meaning how long the dr thinks youll be using it for! I ha e no idea if this is or isnt legal in the states probably legal through some back door loophole in some bill someplace!
