Nah. You’re trying to tell white people that they’re White people. Until the last decade of misplaced activism, nobody was making that mistake, and the only people who used the capital W were neonazis and other white supremacist loons.
We aren’t a group. I get that others are. I don’t care if they were forced out of society by racists or other bigots and had to stick together and made a group out of themselves. (Gays for example) Or if they just felt they had so much in common and nothing in common with anybody else, and they kind of liked it that way (Amish or Hutterites for example.)
But the last time white people were White people, it was the 80’s and the last of the old-school racist golf clubs that you’d see on TV from the States we’re in the news for their un-desegregated memberships. They seemed ridiculous to us. They were the last of the white people anywhere close to polite company who thought they were White. Since the 80’s, there were no more White people anywhere unless you lived in a “compound” and named your kids Adolph and Hermann.
That seemed to be a good state of affairs! Holy shit let’s keep it that way! Now everybody can just do their thing and be a person! Let’s get everybody on board that train, because it’s the only thing on rails to the future. And any asshole who tries to stop anyone taking their seat on that train full of People, they are the problem. They are the problem. They are the problem. Not the passengers in their seats.
So what do we see in the last 10 years? The rise of the critical theorist and the social justice warrior. The first misunderstands human nature and statistics in academia. The second misunderstands online.
And they desperately want white people to be White again. Because the troublemaker keeping people off the train is white and he calls himself White so I guess he must be right!!! Wow if some racist asshole trying to kick people off the train and convince white people they’re still White...if that guy says so, then it must be true! So now let’s talk about White people and say the word “problematic” a lot and “privilege” every other word, throw in some “appropriation” and above all, convince them that they’re White again.
This kind of activism keeps failing because white people are not White people. And what’s worse, and time you convince a white guy that he his White, you end up losing him to the likes of Trump, and we had that problem beat back in the 80’s when his kind of golf course went bankrupt, and when White people weren’t interested in that any more, because they believed in being white People and they wanted everybody else to just be People too.
It’s the dumbest activism I’ve seen or even imagined. I feel like I’m witnessing something as stupid as the birth of communism.
